Keep customers posted on their boat's service status

Every hour, WebRun checks DockMaster for service work orders that changed status, drafts a short, clear text for each customer covering what changed and what's next, queues it in Twilio for a one-click send, and posts your service desk a Slack summary of what's waiting for approval.

In short

How do I automatically text customers when their boat's service status changes?

WebRun checks DockMaster every hour for service work orders that changed status, then drafts a short customer text in Twilio explaining what changed, for example ready for pickup or waiting on parts. Every text is queued for your service desk to review and send with one click, so customers hear about their boat fast, and nothing goes out unapproved.

  • Customers hear about a status change within the hour, not at close
  • Every text is drafted and ready for a one-click send
  • No status text reaches a customer without staff approval

Questions, answered

Will it text customers without my service desk approving first?

No. Every status text is queued in Twilio and waits for a staff member to review and send it. WebRun never sends a text to a customer on its own.

How often does it check for status changes?

Every hour during business hours, so a customer whose boat becomes ready for pickup gets a draft text waiting within the hour, not at the end of the day.

What if the technician notes are incomplete?

It only drafts a text when a work order's status has actually changed. If notes are missing, the draft still queues with the status change so staff can fill in details before sending.
