Automated Reefer Unit Alarm Escalation

Every few minutes, WebRun opens Wireless Links Fleet.Net, scans for reefer unit alarm and fault codes, posts each active alarm to a Microsoft Teams maintenance channel with its severity, and drafts a Twilio SMS to the on-call technician so a failing reefer unit gets a fast response, with the text held for approval.

In short

How do I escalate a reefer unit alarm to my on-call technician quickly?

WebRun scans Wireless Links Fleet.Net every few minutes for reefer unit alarm and fault codes. It posts each active alarm to a Microsoft Teams maintenance channel ranked by severity, and for critical faults it drafts a Twilio SMS to the on-call technician, held for approval, so a failing reefer unit gets a fast, controlled response.

  • Critical reefer faults reach the on-call tech within minutes of the alarm
  • The maintenance team sees every alarm ranked by severity in one channel
  • Escalation texts stay under supervisor approval, never auto sent

Step by step

What does WebRun do on every run?

  1. WebRun signs in and gets to work

Opens www.wlius.com/fleet-management-system in a real browser with your saved login - no setup, no API keys.

WebRun opens Twilio to draft an on-call tech SMS for approval.
    • For high severity alarms, draft an SMS to the on-call technician naming the trailer, unit, and alarm
    • Queue the message in Twilio and leave it unsent for a supervisor to approve
    • Do not text the technician automatically. The escalation waits for human approval
    • Hold a repeat draft for the same alarm until the first is actioned

Done when A high severity alarm has a drafted on-call SMS queued for approval.

Questions, answered

Will it text the on-call technician without approval?

No. WebRun drafts and queues the on-call SMS in Twilio and leaves it unsent for a supervisor to approve. The internal Teams post is automatic, but the external text always waits for a human.

Which alarms escalate to a text versus just a Teams post?

You set the severity threshold. Lower severity alarms are posted to the maintenance Teams channel only, while high severity alarms, especially with a load aboard, also draft an on-call technician SMS.

What if the alarm clears before anyone responds?

It rechecks Fleet.Net every few minutes, so a resolved alarm is marked cleared in the Teams thread and any pending draft for it is withdrawn automatically.

Put this on autopilot.

Turn it on in minutes - or have our team set it up for you.
