In short

How do I automate a weekly dietary and dining preference digest for a senior living kitchen?

WebRun opens PointClickCare every Monday morning, pulls each resident's dietary restrictions, food allergies, texture requirements, and dining preferences, and formats a kitchen-ready digest in Google Sheets grouped by dining room. Changes from the past week are highlighted, and a Slack notification with the sheet link reaches the dining services team before menu planning begins.

  • The kitchen has a current, grouped dietary digest before Monday menu planning every week
  • Dietary order changes from the past seven days are highlighted so kitchen staff never miss an update
  • No resident dietary restriction or allergy is overlooked due to a stale or manually compiled list

Questions, answered

How does it handle residents whose dietary orders changed mid-week?

It runs every Monday and reads the current dietary order from PointClickCare at that moment. Changes made since the previous Monday are highlighted in yellow in the Sheets digest so kitchen staff can see what is different this week.

Can the kitchen team access the sheet without Slack?

Yes. The Google Sheet is a standalone document that any permissioned team member can open directly. The Slack message just notifies the team that the latest version is ready and provides the link.

Does it update any dietary orders or clinical records in PointClickCare?

No. WebRun only reads dietary and preference data from PointClickCare. It does not create, edit, or close any clinical record. All dietary order changes are made by the nursing or dietitian team in PointClickCare.
