A longevity clinic gets a portal without building one

LongevityEHR is not sold to patients, and strictly speaking not to doctors either. It is sold to a clinic that wants a portal of its own and has no intention of building one. The clinic picks its branding, configures its protocols and sets its pricing tiers, and what goes live carries its logo, its colours and its domain. Members sign up to something that looks like the practice they already visit.

The practices doing this are longevity and preventive clinics, concierge medicine, the sort of place where somebody pays out of their own pocket to find out what their numbers are doing before anything has gone wrong. The platform organises that work around six areas: Sleep, Mental Health, Heart Health, Metabolic Health, Hormone Health and Thyroid Function.

Which means the record here is a trend rather than a visit. A member's ApoB in March is interesting because of what it was in September. Very little in the file means much on its own.

Panels, refills and renewals each live on a different login

A trend is only as current as the last number in it, and most of those numbers are collected somewhere the portal cannot see.

Blood is drawn at a laboratory. Some labs are wired in. The specialty assay the practitioner actually wanted, the one that made the panel worth ordering, frequently is not, and posts as a document on that laboratory's own site instead. A member on a hormone or peptide protocol receives it from a compounding pharmacy that runs its own ordering page and tells nobody when a script has shipped. The wearable on the member's wrist all day reports into the wearable company's dashboard. Memberships renew, or fail to, on a card processor.

Each of those is a login. In a clinic this size the person holding all of them is usually the person who also sees members, and the checking happens at nine in the evening or it does not happen.

The portal handles the member it can already see

The platform has automated the part of the relationship that reaches it, and a clinic which has not switched all of that on is making its own life harder.

Automated onboarding lets a member sign themselves up and submit their own history and goals, so nobody at the desk is rekeying an intake form. Scheduling for lab work and diagnostics is built in. Results come back processed, with pattern detection run across the six areas, so a value is read against the member's own history rather than a population range. There are API integrations with EHR systems, lab providers and practice management software.

Every one of those acts on something that has already arrived, and the integration list is what draws that boundary. The laboratory outside it has a website and a document. The compounding pharmacy has an order status page. The card processor has a decline from Tuesday nobody has looked at. The wearable dashboard has a fortnight of drifting resting heart rate the portal was never told about.

The trend can be complete before the member asks about it

A clinic learns most of this a month after it happened, and the whole delay is somebody finding time to sign in.

The wearable dashboard read each week, so a resting heart rate or a sleep score that has been sliding for a fortnight reaches a clinician while it is still early.

Refills checked at the compounding pharmacy's order page, so a hormone or peptide course does not develop a two week hole that surfaces at the next appointment. Memberships renewing this month lined up against what the processor actually took, so a declined card becomes a call this week rather than a discovery next quarter. Members who have not booked a draw in six months, listed with their last panel date and a check-in already written out.

The line in a clinic is firm, and it does not soften because the brand says wellness. Collecting a result, reading a dashboard and spotting a lapsed membership can run unattended. Interpreting a result, changing a protocol, and anything that reaches a member, wait for a qualified person.

A protocol only works if nothing in it goes missing

Every one of those jobs is a person signing in somewhere, reading a figure and writing it down. That half is clerical. The judgement that follows is not, and it is the only half that needs a clinician.

Would a member ever receive a message it wrote by itself?

Never. Check-ins, renewal reminders and win-back notes are drafted with that member's own detail filled in, then held for someone at the clinic to read and send. Nothing addressed to a member leaves on its own.

Our portal is white-labelled. Do members see any of this?

No. It works staff-side, signed in the way your team is, inside a private environment of your own. The portal members log into is unchanged, and nothing about your branding, domain or member experience is touched.
