Automated Thinkific Stalled Student Reports

Every Monday, WebRun opens Thinkific, reviews enrolments across your courses, finds students whose progress has not moved in two weeks, notes where each one stalled, posts the list to your Microsoft Teams channel with a drafted check-in message per student, and sends instructors a WhatsApp summary of the counts.

In short

How do I find Thinkific students who stopped progressing through a course?

WebRun opens Thinkific every Monday and finds students whose course progress has not moved in two weeks, noting exactly which lesson each stopped at. It posts the list to Microsoft Teams with a drafted check-in message per student for an instructor to send, and summarises the counts for instructors on WhatsApp.

  • Stalled students get a personal nudge within a week
  • Lessons where several students stop are named every Monday
  • Instructors start from a drafted message rather than a blank page

Step by step

What does WebRun do on every run?

The exact actions WebRun takes, in order - in plain language, so you can adjust anything.

  1. WebRun signs in and gets to work

Opens www.thinkific.com in a real browser with your saved login - no setup, no API keys.

  2. 1

    • Sign in to Thinkific and open student enrolments across your live courses
    • Record each student's completion percentage and last activity date
    • Collect students whose progress has not moved in the last 14 days and who are not finished
    • Note the exact lesson each one stopped at, since a common stall point is a content problem
    • Set aside students who already completed or refunded

Done when Every stalled student is listed with their course, progress, and stall point.

  3. 2
Microsoft Teams - post the list with drafted check-ins

    • Make clear the drafts are unsent and awaiting a human

Done when The team channel has this week's stalled list with a draft message per student.

  4. 3
WhatsApp - summarise it for instructors
    whatsapp.com
WebRun in WhatsApp: summarise it for instructors
WebRun opens WhatsApp to summarise it for instructors.
    • Send instructors a short WhatsApp summary with the stalled count per course
    • Name the lesson causing the biggest pile-up
    • Compare against last Monday so the trend is visible

Done when Instructors know how many students stalled and where.

Questions, answered

Will it email students on its own?

No. Every check-in message is drafted and posted internally to Microsoft Teams. An instructor reads it, edits it, and sends it. WebRun never emails or messages a student directly.

Can it change enrolments or course content?

No. WebRun reads progress data in Thinkific only. It never unenrols a student, never issues a refund, and never edits a lesson. All of that stays with your team.

How does it know a student stalled rather than finished?

It compares completion percentage against last activity date. A student who is finished is excluded, so the list holds only people who stopped partway through and have been quiet for two weeks.

Put this on autopilot.

Turn it on in minutes - or have our team set it up for you.
