Automated Pluralsight New Hire Path Tracking
Every Monday, WebRun opens Pluralsight, checks each new starter has the right path and courses assigned, reads how far through each one is, keeps a Trello card per person with the gaps named, and sends the manager a WhatsApp summary of who is behind.
How do I track a new engineer's onboarding learning path?
WebRun opens Pluralsight every Monday and checks each recent starter has the right learning path assigned and how far through it they are. It keeps a Trello card per person showing courses completed and not started, and sends the manager a WhatsApp summary of who has stalled.
- Ramp up is visible each week instead of assumed
- A starter with nothing assigned is caught in week one
- Managers get the summary and new hires are never messaged

What does WebRun do on every run?
The exact actions WebRun takes, in order - in plain language, so you can adjust anything.
-
WebRun signs in and gets to work
Opens

1
Pluralsight - check assignments and progress
WebRun opens Pluralsight to check assignments and progress. - Open Pluralsight and find each learner who started in the last few weeks
- Check the path and courses assigned to them match the role they were hired into
- Read completion progress per course and note anything not yet started
- Flag any new starter with no path assigned at all
Done when Every recent starter has their assignments and progress recorded.
-
2
Trello - keep a card per starter
WebRun opens Trello to keep a card per starter. - Keep one card per new starter with their role, start date, and assigned path
- Update the card with courses completed, in progress, and not started
- Move the card through week one, week two, and week four lists as time passes
Done when Every starter has a current card showing exactly where their ramp up stands.
-
3
WhatsApp - summarise who is behind
WebRun opens WhatsApp to summarise who is behind. - Send the manager a short summary naming who is on track and who has stalled
- Call out any starter with nothing assigned, since that is a setup gap not a learning one
- Keep it to the manager. WebRun never messages the new hire directly
Done when The manager has this week's ramp up summary on WhatsApp.
How is each run configured?
Secure by default
Connect once, stays signed in
WebRun signs in once and keeps each session in a persistent environment, so every run picks up right where it left off.
Every action is checked against this policy before it runs.
Questions, answered
Will it message the new hire?
No. The WhatsApp summary goes to the manager only, and the Trello board is internal. Any conversation with the new starter about their progress is one their manager has.
Does it assign courses on its own?
No. WebRun checks whether the right path and courses are assigned and names the gap when they are not. Making the assignment stays with whoever owns onboarding.
How long does it follow a starter?
Through the first weeks you set, with the card moving through week one, week two, and week four lists. After that the card is done and the starter drops off the board.
