Automated Adobe Stock Brief Shortlisting

Every Monday, WebRun opens Adobe Stock, runs the search terms from this week's design briefs, saves the best candidates to a board, writes the shortlist onto the matching Trello card, and posts the options to Microsoft Teams so a designer picks before anything is licensed.

In short

How do I shortlist stock images for design briefs without licensing them?

WebRun opens Adobe Stock every Monday and runs the search terms from each open design brief, saving the strongest candidates to a board without licensing anything. It writes the shortlist onto the matching Trello card and posts the options to Microsoft Teams, so a designer picks before any credit is spent.

  • Designers open a shortlist instead of a blank search box
  • No credit is spent until a human picks the asset
  • Every brief card carries its candidates and deadline in one place

Step by step

What does WebRun do on every run?

The exact actions WebRun takes, in order - in plain language, so you can adjust anything.

  1. WebRun signs in and gets to work

Opens stock.adobe.com in a real browser with your saved login - no setup, no API keys.

  2. 1

    • Open Adobe Stock and run each search term from this week's brief list
    • Apply the filters the brief calls for, such as orientation, asset type, and whether people are in frame
    • Save the strongest six candidates per brief to a named board in your library
    • Record each asset's title and ID. Never license, buy, or download an asset

Done when Every open brief has a saved board of candidate assets with titles and IDs.

  3. 2
Trello - attach the shortlist to the brief

    • Open the design board in Trello and find the card for each brief
    • Add a comment listing the shortlisted asset titles and IDs with the board they are saved on
    • Set the card's due date to the brief deadline and move it to Awaiting Selection
    • Skip briefs that already have a selected asset on the card

Done when Every brief card carries its shortlist and sits in Awaiting Selection.

  4. 3
Microsoft Teams - post the options for a designer

    • Post one message per brief to the design channel in Microsoft Teams
    • List the shortlisted assets, the brief name, and the deadline
    • Ask the owning designer to choose, and say plainly that nothing is licensed until they do
    • Never license or purchase an asset. Licensing is always a human action

Done when Each brief's options are in Teams awaiting a designer's pick.

Good to know

Questions, answered

Will it license or buy assets?

No. WebRun saves candidates to a board and records their IDs. It never licenses, downloads, or pays for an asset, so no credit is ever spent without a person clicking the button themselves.

How does it know what to search for?

It reads the search terms and filters written on each brief card, such as subject, orientation, and asset type. Keep the brief specific and the shortlist gets sharper, because the search runs exactly what the brief asks for.

What if the shortlist is wrong?

Nothing is committed, so a bad shortlist costs only a glance. Reply on the Teams message with better terms and the next run searches those instead, leaving the old candidates on the board for reference.

Put this on autopilot.
