Automated ZipRecruiter Candidate Sourcing

Every Monday, WebRun opens ZipRecruiter, searches the candidate database with the titles, skills and locations behind each role that inbound is not filling, reads the resumes, saves the closest matches to your shortlist, drafts a personal invitation per candidate in Gmail, and posts the shortlist to Slack for the hiring manager to approve.

In short

How do I source ZipRecruiter candidates for a role with no applicants?

WebRun sources candidates every Monday for the ZipRecruiter roles nobody is applying to. It searches the candidate database on the skills and location each role needs, shortlists the closest resumes, drafts a personal invitation per candidate in Gmail, and posts the shortlist to Slack for a recruiter to approve.

  • Roles with no inbound get a fresh shortlist every Monday
  • Every invitation is drafted and waiting, never sent unapproved
  • Over tight requirements surface when a search returns almost nobody

Step by step

What does WebRun do on every run?

The exact actions WebRun takes, in order - in plain language, so you can adjust anything.

  1. WebRun signs in and gets to work

Opens ziprecruiter.com in a real browser with your saved login - no setup, no API keys.

  2. 1
ZipRecruiter - search and shortlist candidates

WebRun in ZipRecruiter: search and shortlist candidates

    • Open ZipRecruiter and pick the job postings with the fewest applicants
    • Search the candidate database on the title, skills, location and experience each role needs
    • Read the resumes and drop anyone missing a must have requirement
    • Save the closest matches to the shortlist for that role
    • Never send an invite to apply. Contacting a candidate stays a human action

Done when Each starved role has a saved shortlist of candidates worth contacting.

  3. 2
    Gmail - draft each invitation
    gmail.com
WebRun in Gmail: draft each invitation
WebRun opens Gmail to draft each invitation.
    • Draft one invitation per shortlisted candidate
    • Name the role, the location and the one thing in their resume that fits
    • Leave every message unsent as a draft in your account for a recruiter to read, edit and send

Done when An invitation is drafted and waiting for every shortlisted candidate.

  4. 3
Slack - post the shortlist for approval
    slack.com
WebRun in Slack: post the shortlist for approval
WebRun opens Slack to post the shortlist for approval.
    • Post the shortlist to the hiring channel, role by role
    • Give one line per candidate on why they matched
    • Note how many drafts are waiting so the recruiter knows what to review
    • Flag roles where the search returned almost nobody, since the requirements may be too tight

Done when The hiring channel has this week's sourced shortlist.

Questions, answered

Will it message candidates on its own?

No. Every invitation is left as an unsent Gmail draft, and WebRun never uses the invite to apply action in ZipRecruiter. A recruiter reads, edits and sends each one, so nothing reaches a candidate unapproved.

How does it choose who to shortlist?

It searches on the title, skills, location and experience your posting asks for, reads the resumes, and drops anyone missing a must have. Every shortlisted candidate comes with the reason they matched.

Which roles does it source for?

The postings with the fewest applicants, since those are the ones inbound will not fill. You can also name specific roles and WebRun sources for those every Monday.

Put this on autopilot.
