Automated Rows Refresh Failure Alerts

Every morning, WebRun opens Rows, walks your shared spreadsheets, checks when each one last updated and whether any connected data step errored, then posts a short list of stale or broken sheets to Slack and mirrors it to Microsoft Teams.

In short

How do I get alerted when a Rows spreadsheet stops refreshing?

WebRun checks your Rows spreadsheets every morning, reading each one's last-updated time and any failing data step. It posts the stale or broken sheets to Slack and mirrors the same list to Microsoft Teams, so a silent refresh failure gets caught before someone reports off a frozen number.

  • Broken refreshes are caught in the morning, not in a meeting
  • Nobody reports off a spreadsheet that froze last week
  • Slack and Teams get the same list, so it is chased once

Step by step

What does WebRun do on every run?

The exact actions WebRun takes, in order - in plain language, so you can adjust anything.

  1. WebRun signs in and gets to work

Opens rows.com in a real browser with your saved login - no setup, no API keys.

  2. 1
    Rows - check refresh status
    rows.com
WebRun in Rows: check refresh status
WebRun opens Rows to check refresh status.
    • Open Rows and list the spreadsheets in your workspace folders
    • Open each one you track and read its last-updated time
    • Note any connected data step showing an error or an expired connection
    • Flag any sheet that has not refreshed inside its expected window

Done when Every tracked spreadsheet has a fresh or stale verdict with a reason.

  3. 2
Slack - post the broken sheets
    slack.com
WebRun in Slack: post the broken sheets
WebRun opens Slack to post the broken sheets.
    • Post the stale and errored spreadsheets to your data channel
    • Give each one its name, how long since it last updated, and the failing step
    • Put expired connections at the top because they block every downstream sheet
    • Skip the post entirely when everything refreshed cleanly

Done when The data channel has today's list of spreadsheets that need attention.

  4. 3
Microsoft Teams - mirror it for the wider team
    microsoft.com
WebRun in Microsoft Teams: mirror it for the wider team
WebRun opens Microsoft Teams to mirror it for the wider team.
    • Mirror the same list into your Microsoft Teams channel for people who live there
    • Keep the wording identical so nobody chases the same sheet twice
    • Add a one-line count of how many spreadsheets refreshed cleanly

Done when Teams and Slack both carry the same morning refresh report.

Questions, answered

Will it change or repair my spreadsheets?

No. WebRun only reads refresh times and error states in Rows, then reports them. Any edit or reconnection is left for a person, and the internal Slack and Teams posts are the only thing it writes.

How does it know a sheet is stale?

You tell it the expected window per spreadsheet, for example daily or hourly. WebRun compares that to the last-updated time in Rows and flags anything outside it.

What happens on a clean morning?

Nothing is posted. WebRun stays quiet when every tracked spreadsheet refreshed on time, so the channel only lights up when something actually needs a fix.

Put this on autopilot.

Turn it on in minutes - or have our team set it up for you.
