Automated Plivo Phone Number Inventory Audits
Every Monday, WebRun opens the Plivo console, lists every rented number with its application, subaccount and monthly rental, checks the call and message logs for traffic in the last month, records the idle numbers in Airtable, and texts you the monthly waste total.
How do I find phone numbers I am renting but not using?
WebRun opens the Plivo console every Monday and lists every rented number with its monthly rental, subaccount, and attached application. It checks the call and message logs for traffic in the last month, records the idle numbers in Airtable, and texts you what they cost together.
- Idle numbers are named with what they cost every month
- Numbers left on old subaccounts stop renting quietly
- Nothing is released without a person deciding to release it
Built for telephony ops · finance teams · CPaaS administrators · contact centre managers
What does WebRun do on every run?
The exact actions WebRun takes, in order - in plain language, so you can adjust anything.
-
WebRun signs in and gets to work
Opens

1
Plivo - match each number against its traffic
WebRun opens Plivo to match each number against its traffic. - Open the Plivo console and list every rented number with its subaccount and monthly rental
- Note which application each number is attached to, and flag any attached to none
- Search the call logs and message logs for traffic on each number in the last month
Done when Every number has a rental cost, an application, and a traffic count.
-
2
Airtable - log the idle numbers and their cost
WebRun opens Airtable to log the idle numbers and their cost. - Write one row per number with the subaccount, application, monthly rental, and last traffic date
- Flag every number with no calls and no messages in the last month
- Total the monthly rental of the flagged numbers so the waste is one figure
Done when Airtable holds this week's inventory with the idle numbers flagged and totalled.
-
3
Twilio - text you the monthly waste total
WebRun opens Twilio to text you the monthly waste total. - Draft a short text with the count of idle numbers and what they cost per month
- Include the biggest single rental so the worst offender is named
- Leave the text queued for you to release rather than sending unattended
Done when A text with the week's waste total is waiting for you.
How is each run configured?
Secure by default
Connect once, stays signed in
WebRun signs in once and keeps each session in a persistent environment, so every run picks up right where it left off.
Every action is checked against this policy before it runs.
Questions, answered
Will it release a number on its own?
No. Releasing a number is permanent and often cannot be undone, so WebRun only lists the candidates with their cost. Someone on your team makes the release in the Plivo console.
How does it decide a number is idle?
It searches the Plivo call logs and message logs for any traffic on that number in the last month. A number with zero calls and zero messages in that window is flagged, with its last traffic date shown.
Does it cover numbers on subaccounts?
Yes. Every rented number is listed with the subaccount it belongs to and the application it is attached to, so a number left behind on an old subaccount is caught too.
