Automated Paycom Time-Off Approval Queue
Every morning, WebRun opens Paycom, collects the time-off requests still waiting on a decision, reads the accrual balance behind each one, records them in Airtable, and posts Slack a short queue of who owes an approval and how long the request has waited.
How do I stop time-off requests sitting unapproved in Paycom?
WebRun opens Paycom every morning, collects the time-off requests still waiting on a manager, and reads the accrual balance behind each one. It logs them in Airtable with a days-waiting count and posts Slack a queue sorted oldest first, so staffing decisions are made rather than delayed.
- Requests waiting more than a day surface every morning
- Managers see the accrual balance next to the dates requested
- Next week's staffing is settled before schedules go out
Built for HR administrators · people operations · office managers · multi-site employers
What does WebRun do on every run?
The exact actions WebRun takes, in order - in plain language, so you can adjust anything.
-
WebRun signs in and gets to work
Opens
paycom.comin a real browser with your saved login - no setup, no API keys. -
1
Paycom - collect pending time-off requests
WebRun opens Paycom to collect pending time-off requests. - Open Paycom and filter time-off requests to pending
- Capture the employee, the dates requested, the request date, and the manager it is waiting on
- Read the accrual balance for each employee so the approver can see whether the time is available
Done when Every unapproved time-off request is listed with its dates, its approver, and the accrual balance behind it.
-
2
Airtable - log each request with its balance
WebRun opens Airtable to log each request with its balance. - Add or update a row per request with employee, dates, manager, and balance
- Set a days-waiting number from the request date so ageing is visible at a glance
- Mark rows closed when the request no longer appears as pending in Paycom
Done when Airtable holds a current row for every pending request with its age and balance.
-
3
Slack - post the ageing approval queue
WebRun opens Slack to post the ageing approval queue. - Post the queue to your HR channel with the oldest requests first
- Name the manager who owes each decision and the dates being requested
- Leave every approval to a person. WebRun never approves or declines a request in Paycom
Done when The HR channel has today's queue with the oldest requests and their approvers at the top.
How is each run configured?
Secure by default
Connect once, stays signed in
WebRun signs in once and keeps each session in a persistent environment, so every run picks up right where it left off.
Every action is checked against this policy before it runs.
Questions, answered
Will it approve time off on its own?
No. WebRun only reads Paycom and reports. Every approval or decline stays with the manager, and nothing is submitted in Paycom without a person doing it.
Does it show whether the employee has the balance?
Yes. WebRun reads the accrual balance alongside each request, so the approver sees the available hours next to the dates being asked for.
What happens once a request is decided?
It drops off the next run. WebRun reads the live pending list in Paycom each morning, so approved and declined requests are closed out in Airtable automatically.
