Automatic Norton Cloud Backup Checks

Every morning, WebRun opens Norton, goes through each device on the account, reads the last cloud backup date and whether the run finished or failed, checks the storage used against what the plan allows, sends you the failures and the devices running out of space on WhatsApp, and opens a Trello card for each one to fix.

In short

How do I check my Norton cloud backup actually ran?

WebRun checks your Norton cloud backups every morning. It reads each device's last backup date, whether the run finished, and how much storage is left, then sends the failures and the devices running low to WhatsApp and opens a Trello card, so a broken backup is caught early.

  • Failed and overdue backups surface the next morning
  • Devices close to filling cloud storage are flagged before they stop
  • Silence means every device backed up cleanly

Step by step

What does WebRun do on every run?

The exact actions WebRun takes, in order - in plain language, so you can adjust anything.

  1. WebRun signs in and gets to work

Opens my.norton.com in a real browser with your saved login - no setup, no API keys.

  2. 1
Norton - read backup status per device

    • Open Norton and list every device on the account
    • Read the last cloud backup date for each device and whether the run completed or failed
    • Check the storage used against the amount the plan provides
    • Note any device that has not backed up inside your expected window
    • Read only. WebRun never starts, stops, or changes a backup set

Done when Every device has a last backup date, a result and a storage figure.

  3. 2
    WhatsApp - send the failures
    whatsapp.com
WebRun in WhatsApp: send the failures
WebRun opens WhatsApp to send the failures.
    • Send the devices whose backup failed or is overdue, oldest first
    • Give the device name and how many days since it last backed up
    • Flag any device close to filling its cloud storage
    • Stay quiet on mornings when every device backed up cleanly

Done when You know which machines are unprotected before the working day starts.

  4. 3
Trello - open a card to fix each one
    trello.com
WebRun in Trello: open a card to fix each one
WebRun opens Trello to open a card to fix each one.
    • Open a card for each failing or overdue device
    • Put the device name, the last successful backup date and the storage figure on the card
    • Set the due date to today so the machine is looked at the same day
    • Close the card on the run after a clean backup appears

Done when Every failing device has a dated card waiting for someone.

Questions, answered

Will it change my backup settings or delete old backups?

No. WebRun only reads what the Norton account shows. It never edits a backup set, starts a run, deletes stored files, or frees up space, because losing a backup is not recoverable.

Will it buy more storage when space runs low?

No. WebRun never buys or upgrades anything. When a device is close to filling its cloud storage it tells you on WhatsApp and opens a card, and the purchase decision stays yours.

Do I get a message every single morning?

Only when something is wrong. A morning where every device backed up cleanly and has space produces no alert, so a WhatsApp message always means a machine needs attention.

Put this on autopilot.

Turn it on in minutes - or have our team set it up for you.
