Automated Meltano Overnight Run Reconciliation

Every morning, WebRun checks the run history for every scheduled Meltano extract and load job from overnight, creates a Trello card naming the tap, target, and error for anything that failed, and pings the data engineer on WhatsApp with a summary, so a broken pipeline gets fixed before the day's reporting quietly relies on stale data.

In short

How do I confirm my overnight Meltano pipelines actually completed?

WebRun checks every scheduled Meltano extract and load run from overnight each morning. Any failed pipeline gets a Trello card with the tap, target, and error, and the data engineer gets pinged on WhatsApp, so a broken sync gets fixed before the day's dashboards and reports quietly run on stale or incomplete data.

  • Failed pipelines get caught the same morning instead of at the next audit
  • The team works from a running Trello list of exactly what is broken
  • The data engineer gets pinged on WhatsApp instead of digging through logs

Step by step

What does WebRun do on every run?

The exact actions WebRun takes, in order - in plain language, so you can adjust anything.

  1. WebRun signs in and gets to work

Opens meltano.com in a real browser with your saved login - no setup, no API keys.

  2. 1
Meltano - check overnight extract and load runs
    • Check the run history for every scheduled extract and load job from overnight
    • Find any run that ended in a failure
    • Capture the tap, target, and error message for each

Done when Every failed overnight run has been captured with its detail.

  3. 2
Trello - log the failed runs
    trello.com
WebRun in Trello: log the failed runs
WebRun opens Trello to log the failed runs.
    • Create a card for each failed run on the data pipeline board
    • Include the tap, target, and error
    • Move a card to done once its pipeline runs successfully again

Done when Every currently failing pipeline has an open Trello card.

  4. 3
WhatsApp - ping the data engineer
    whatsapp.com
WebRun in WhatsApp: ping the data engineer
WebRun opens WhatsApp to ping the data engineer.
    • Message the data engineer with the count and names of failed pipelines
    • Send only when there is at least one new or still-open failure
    • Keep the message to the essentials

Done when The data engineer has been pinged about today's failures.

Questions, answered

Does WebRun rerun a failed Meltano pipeline?

No. It only detects and reports the failure. Rerunning a job or fixing the underlying tap or target configuration stays with your data engineer.

What counts as a failed run?

Any scheduled extract or load job whose run ends in an error, not runs that complete with warnings.

Does it close the Trello card automatically once fixed?

Yes. Once a pipeline completes successfully again, WebRun moves its card to done on the next check, so the board only shows what is still broken.

Put this on autopilot.

Turn it on in minutes - or have our team set it up for you.
