Automated MEGA Storage Quota Alerts

Every night, WebRun signs in to MEGA, reads storage used and transfer used against your account plan, works out how fast each is being consumed and how many days remain, lists the largest folders and the space sitting in the bin, logs the trend in Airtable, and files the record in Google Drive.

In short

How do I get warned before my cloud storage quota runs out?

WebRun signs in to MEGA every night and reads storage and transfer used against your plan's quotas. It works out the consumption rate, calculates days remaining, lists the largest folders and the recoverable bin space, and logs the trend in Airtable, so you are warned days before an upload fails mid backup.

  • A days remaining figure sits next to every quota, not just a percentage
  • The largest folders and recoverable bin space arrive with the warning
  • Transfer limits are watched alongside storage, so backups do not fail mid run

Step by step

What does WebRun do on every run?

The exact actions WebRun takes, in order - in plain language, so you can adjust anything.

  1. WebRun signs in and gets to work

Opens mega.nz/login in a real browser with your saved login - no setup, no API keys.

  2. 1
MEGA - read storage and transfer used
    mega.nz
WebRun in MEGA: read storage and transfer used
WebRun opens MEGA to read storage and transfer used.
    • Sign in to MEGA and read storage used against the quota on your plan
    • Read transfer used against the transfer quota for the current period
    • Compare tonight's figures against recent nights to get a consumption rate
    • List the largest folders by size so a reduction has a target
    • Read how much space is sitting in the rubbish bin and could be recovered

Done when Storage and transfer both have a used figure, a quota, and a consumption rate.

  3. 2
Airtable - log the consumption trend
    airtable.com
WebRun in Airtable: log the consumption trend
WebRun opens Airtable to log the consumption trend.
    • Add tonight's storage and transfer figures as a new row
    • Calculate the days remaining at the current rate for both storage and transfer
    • Flag the row when either falls below your warning threshold
    • Keep the largest folders and the bin figure alongside so the fix is obvious

Done when Tonight's quota row with days remaining is stored in Airtable.

  4. 3
Google Drive - file the nightly record
    drive.google.com
WebRun in Google Drive: file the nightly record
WebRun opens Google Drive to file the nightly record.
    • File a short nightly record in your operations folder in Google Drive
    • State storage used, transfer used, days remaining, and the recoverable bin space
    • Name the file by date so a sudden jump can be traced to the night it happened
    • Delete nothing. WebRun reports what could be recovered and leaves the emptying to you

Done when Tonight's quota record is filed in Google Drive.

Questions, answered

Will it delete files or empty the bin?

No. WebRun never deletes a file, empties the rubbish bin, or upgrades your plan. It reports how much space could be recovered and leaves every deletion to you.

How does it work out days remaining?

It compares tonight's used figures against recent nights to get a consumption rate, then divides the remaining quota by that rate. A backup that suddenly grows shortens the estimate the same night.

Does it warn on transfer as well as storage?

Yes. Both are read every night against their own quota, because a transfer limit hit mid backup fails an upload just as surely as a full drive does.

Put this on autopilot.

Turn it on in minutes - or have our team set it up for you.
