Automated VelocityEHS Incident Exception Alerts
Every hour, WebRun checks the Incident Management module in VelocityEHS for newly logged incidents rated at your defined severity threshold or above, logs each one to the incident exception tracker in Google Sheets, and immediately posts an alert to the responsible consultant in Slack so critical events are never missed overnight or between check-ins.
How do I get immediate alerts when a serious client incident is logged in VelocityEHS?
Every hour, WebRun checks the Incident Management module in VelocityEHS for newly logged incidents at or above your defined severity threshold, logs each one to a Google Sheets exception tracker, and immediately sends a Slack alert to the responsible consultant with the client name, incident type, severity, site location, and a direct link to the record.
- Serious client incidents surface to the responsible consultant within the hour, not the next morning
- A running exception log in Google Sheets gives leadership a searchable incident history
- Consultants receive one precise alert per incident, not repeated notifications across runs

Questions, answered
Does it take any action in VelocityEHS automatically when an incident is flagged?
No. WebRun only reads the incident record and alerts the consultant. All investigation tasks, corrective actions, and OSHA recordkeeping entries are completed by the responsible consultant.
What counts as a high-severity incident?
You define the severity threshold when you set up the workflow. Common thresholds include Lost Time Injuries, OSHA Recordable incidents, and Near Misses with a high consequence score. Any incident at or above that threshold triggers an alert.
What if the same incident is logged in multiple runs?
WebRun tracks each incident by its VelocityEHS record ID in the Google Sheets log and skips incidents already alerted, so consultants receive one alert per new incident, not repeated notifications.
