Automated Opendock Truck Dwell Time Report

Every Monday, WebRun opens Opendock, calculates the dwell time for every appointment completed in the prior week by subtracting check-in from check-out, groups the results by carrier and door, and writes a ranked dwell time report to Google Sheets so your operations team can pinpoint where loading or unloading is taking longest.

In short

How do I automatically track and report truck dwell time at my dock each week?

WebRun pulls every completed Opendock appointment from the prior week every Monday, calculates each truck's dwell time from check-in to check-out, and writes a ranked report to Google Sheets sorted by average dwell per carrier and door. High-dwell carriers are flagged automatically so your operations team can tackle the worst turnaround times first.

  • Highest-dwell carriers are ranked and visible every Monday morning
  • Separate inbound and outbound dwell times reveal which direction is slowest
  • Weekly data accumulates in Google Sheets for trend analysis and carrier conversations

Questions, answered

What is dwell time and how is it calculated?

Dwell time is the total elapsed time from when a truck checks in at your dock to when it checks out. WebRun calculates it from the Opendock appointment record for every completed appointment in the week.

Can it separate inbound and outbound dwell times?

Yes. WebRun groups dwell time by appointment type so you can see whether inbound receiving or outbound loading is driving the longest stays at each door.

Will it notify high-dwell carriers about their performance?

No. The dwell report goes to an internal Google Sheet for your operations review. Any carrier-facing communication is drafted for a human to review before sending.
