Automated Canada Post Delay Alerts

Every morning, WebRun opens Canada Post tracking, checks every shipment you still have in flight, flags the ones with no new scan in two days or an expected delivery date already passed, posts the exception list to Microsoft Teams, and books a follow-up slot in Google Calendar for the worst cases.

In short

How do I get alerted when a Canada Post shipment stops moving?

WebRun checks your open Canada Post shipments every morning and flags any parcel with no tracking scan for two days or an expected delivery date already passed. It posts the exception list to Microsoft Teams, oldest stalls first, and books a Google Calendar follow-up for parcels stuck five days or longer.

  • Stalled parcels surface the morning they stall, not when the customer complains
  • The team sees only exceptions, never a wall of healthy shipments
  • Parcels stuck five days or more get time booked to chase them

Step by step

What does WebRun do on every run?

The exact actions WebRun takes, in order - in plain language, so you can adjust anything.

  1. WebRun signs in and gets to work

Opens www.canadapost.ca in a real browser with your saved login - no setup, no API keys.

  2. 1

    • Open Canada Post and look up each tracking number still marked in transit
    • Read the latest scan, its date, and the expected delivery date
    • Flag any parcel with no new scan for two days or more
    • Flag any parcel whose expected delivery date has already passed
    • Note delivery exceptions such as an attempted delivery or a held item

Done when Every open shipment has a current status and the stalled ones are flagged.

    • Post the exception list to your shipping channel
    • Show the tracking number, the customer reference, days since the last scan, and the latest status for each
    • Put the oldest stalls at the top so the worst cases get seen first
    • Keep it to exceptions only. Parcels moving normally are not listed

Done when The shipping channel has today's stalled-parcel list.

  4. 3
Google Calendar - book the follow-up slot
    calendar.google.com
WebRun in Google Calendar: book the follow-up slot
WebRun opens Google Calendar to book the follow-up slot.
    • Create a short follow-up block for any parcel stalled five days or more
    • List the affected tracking numbers in the event description
    • Skip the block entirely on days when nothing has stalled that long

Done when Long-stalled parcels have time booked to chase them.

Good to know

Questions, answered

Will it contact customers about a late parcel?

No. WebRun posts an internal Teams list for your team. It never emails, texts, or messages the recipient, and it never files a claim or a service ticket with Canada Post.

What counts as a stalled parcel?

Two days with no new tracking scan, or an expected delivery date that has already passed. Both thresholds are yours to change, and parcels moving normally never appear in the list.

Does it post something every day even when nothing is wrong?

It posts a one-line all-clear when nothing is stalled, so you know the check ran. The calendar follow-up block is only created when a parcel has been stuck five days or more.

Put this on autopilot.

Turn it on in minutes - or have our team set it up for you.
