Automatic Buffer Queue Gap Checks

Every Monday, WebRun opens Buffer, walks each connected channel's queue across the coming week, compares scheduled posts against your posting schedule, drafts a short Twilio nudge for whoever owns the quiet channel, and posts the gaps by channel and day to Teams.

In short

How do I make sure my social media queue does not run empty next week?

WebRun reads your Buffer queue every Monday and maps the week ahead channel by channel and day by day. It finds the slots your posting schedule expects but nothing fills, drafts a Twilio nudge for the channel owner to approve, and posts a coverage grid to Microsoft Teams so the calendar never goes quiet.

  • Empty slots surface days before the queue goes quiet
  • Every channel gets a day by day coverage count each Monday
  • Ready drafts are matched to the gaps they could fill

Step by step

What does WebRun do on every run?

The exact actions WebRun takes, in order - in plain language, so you can adjust anything.

  1. WebRun signs in and gets to work

Opens login.buffer.com in a real browser with your saved login - no setup, no API keys.

  2. 1
Buffer - map next week's queue coverage
    buffer.com
WebRun in Buffer: map next week's queue coverage
WebRun opens Buffer to map next week's queue coverage.
    • Open Buffer and select each connected channel in turn
    • Read the queue for the next seven days and count what is scheduled per day
    • Compare that against the posting schedule set for the channel to find unfilled slots
    • Note any drafts sitting unscheduled that could fill a gap

Done when Every channel has a day by day count of scheduled posts and empty slots for the week ahead.

  3. 2
Twilio - draft a nudge for the channel owner
    twilio.com
WebRun in Twilio: draft a nudge for the channel owner
WebRun opens Twilio to draft a nudge for the channel owner.
    • Write a short nudge for the owner of each channel that runs dry, naming the days with nothing queued
    • Mention any ready draft that would fill the gap
    • Queue the message in Twilio unsent. WebRun never sends a text on its own
    • Leave the queue for the social lead to review and release

Done when A nudge is drafted for every channel owner with a gap to fill.

  4. 3
Microsoft Teams - post the gaps by channel and day
    microsoft.com
WebRun in Microsoft Teams: post the gaps by channel and day
WebRun opens Microsoft Teams to post the gaps by channel and day.
    • Post a grid of the coming week to your social channel: one row per channel, one column per day
    • Mark the empty slots and total how many posts each channel is short
    • Put the channel with the biggest gap first and list the drafts available to fill it

Done when The team has next week's coverage grid in Teams.

Questions, answered

Will it publish or schedule posts for me?

No. WebRun only reads the queue and reports the gaps. It never writes a post, schedules one, or publishes to a channel. Filling the slot stays a human decision in Buffer.

Does it text the channel owner automatically?

No. The nudge is queued in Twilio unsent for the social lead to release. Only the Teams coverage grid, which is internal, posts on its own.

How far ahead does it look?

Seven days from the Monday run, so you see the gaps while there is still time to write and schedule. Run it more often if your queue turns over faster than weekly.

Put this on autopilot.

Turn it on in minutes - or have our team set it up for you.
