Step by step

What does WebRun do on every run?

The exact actions WebRun takes, in order - in plain language, so you can adjust anything.

  1. WebRun signs in and gets to work

Opens www.barclays.co.uk in a real browser with your saved login - no setup, no API keys.

  2. 1
Barclays - read every recurring payment
    barclays.co.uk
WebRun in Barclays: read every recurring payment
WebRun opens Barclays to read every recurring payment.
    • Sign into Barclays and open each account you want reviewed
    • List every direct debit and standing order set up on the account, with the payee and the amount
    • Read the recent transactions to find the last date each one was actually taken
    • Flag any payment whose amount has increased since the previous run
    • Flag arrangements that have not been collected for several months, which often means a dormant service
    • Total the monthly commitment across all recurring payments
    • Read only. WebRun never cancels an arrangement, moves money, or makes a payment

Done when Every direct debit and standing order is listed with its payee, amount, and last collection date.

  3. 2
Twilio - text you the monthly total
    twilio.com
WebRun in Twilio: text you the monthly total

    • Send a short SMS from Twilio to your own number with the total leaving the account each month
    • Name any payment whose amount went up since last week
    • Only your own registered numbers are texted. A message to any number outside that list is queued for your approval instead of sent

Done when You have this week's recurring total by SMS.

  4. 3
Gmail - draft the review list
    gmail.com
WebRun in Gmail: draft the review list
WebRun opens Gmail to draft the review list.
    • Draft the review list in Gmail with one line per arrangement: payee, amount, frequency, and last date taken
    • Put the largest commitments and the price rises at the top
    • Group the dormant arrangements separately as candidates to cancel
    • Leave the email in Drafts. Cancelling anything is done by you, in your own banking session

Done when The review list sits in Drafts, unsent, with cancellation candidates grouped.

Good to know

Questions, answered

Can it cancel a direct debit for me?

No. WebRun reads your arrangements and reports them. It never cancels a direct debit, amends a standing order, makes a payment, or moves money. Every change happens in your own banking session.

How does it spot a subscription nobody uses?

It compares each arrangement against recent transactions and flags the ones not collected for several months, along with any payment whose amount has risen since the previous review.

Does it give financial advice?

No. It lists what leaves the account and what has changed. WebRun is not a financial adviser and offers no opinion on what you should keep, cancel, or buy.

Put this on autopilot.

Turn it on in minutes - or have our team set it up for you.
