Automated ADP Payroll Exception Checks

Every Monday, WebRun opens ADP, checks for unapproved timesheets, incomplete new hire profiles, and pay changes still pending approval, saves the dated exception list to Google Drive, and posts a short Slack summary so your payroll admin can clear everything before the run.

In short

How do I catch payroll exceptions before ADP runs payroll?

WebRun checks ADP every Monday for what would block your pay run: unapproved timesheets, incomplete new hire setups, and pending pay changes. It saves the dated exception list to Google Drive and posts a Slack summary to your payroll admin, so every exception gets cleared before ADP processes payroll, not after.

  • Payroll exceptions get caught before the run, not after
  • Payroll admins start pay day with a cleared checklist
  • A dated exception record saved for every pay cycle

Questions, answered

Does WebRun submit or process payroll?

No. WebRun only reads ADP and reports what would block the run. Submitting or approving payroll always stays a manual step for your payroll admin.

What counts as an exception?

Unapproved timesheets, new hires missing direct deposit or tax setup, and pay changes still pending approval. Anything already cleared in ADP is left off the list.

Does it track exceptions across pay cycles?

Yes. It keeps last week's file in Google Drive so your admin can see which exceptions are new and which have carried over more than one cycle.
