Automated A2 Hosting Disk Usage Alerts

Every night, WebRun signs in to A2 Hosting, reads disk usage for each hosting account along with what is filling it up, saves the reading as a dated file in Google Drive, and writes a Notion warning naming any account close enough to full that writes could start failing.

In short

How do I get warned before my hosting account runs out of disk space?

WebRun watches disk space on your A2 Hosting accounts every night. It reads each account's quota and usage, files the reading in Google Drive to show the growth rate, and writes a Notion warning naming any account near full, so logs get cleared before uploads and email start failing.

  • Disk warnings arrive while there is still room to clear space
  • Growth rate per account shows how many days are left
  • No more discovering a full disk through bounced email

Step by step

What does WebRun do on every run?

The exact actions WebRun takes, in order - in plain language, so you can adjust anything.

  1. WebRun signs in and gets to work

Opens my.a2hosting.com in a real browser with your saved login - no setup, no API keys.

  2. 1
A2 Hosting - read disk usage per account
    a2hosting.com
WebRun in A2 Hosting: read disk usage per account
WebRun opens A2 Hosting to read disk usage per account.
    • Sign in to your A2 Hosting client area and open each hosting account's control panel
    • Capture the disk quota, the disk used, and the percentage remaining for every account
    • Break the usage down into the big contributors: mail stores, databases, backups, and logs

Done when Every hosting account has a disk reading and a breakdown of what is using the space.

  3. 2
Google Drive - save the nightly reading
    drive.google.com
WebRun in Google Drive: save the nightly reading
WebRun opens Google Drive to save the nightly reading.
    • Save tonight's reading as a dated file in your hosting folder in Google Drive
    • Keep the previous nights alongside it so the growth rate is visible over time
    • Note how many gigabytes each account grew since last night and project the days left at that rate

Done when Tonight's reading is filed and the growth rate per account is calculated.

  4. 3
Notion - warn on accounts near full
    notion.so
WebRun in Notion: warn on accounts near full
WebRun opens Notion to warn on accounts near full.
    • Update your hosting status page in Notion with tonight's usage per account
    • Write a warning block naming any account above the threshold you set, with the space left and the projected days remaining
    • List the largest contributors for each warned account so there is somewhere obvious to start clearing

Done when The status page shows tonight's usage and names every account at risk.

Questions, answered

Will it delete files to free up space?

No. WebRun reads usage and names what is filling the disk. Deleting logs, old backups, or mail is never done on its own, because a wrong deletion on a live host is not recoverable.

Can I set my own warning threshold?

Yes. Tell WebRun the percentage or the gigabytes left that should trigger a warning, and it applies that to every account. Many teams start at eighty percent used.

Does it upgrade my hosting plan if I run out?

No. Buying more disk is a spend decision, so WebRun only reports the shortfall and the days remaining. You place any upgrade yourself in the A2 Hosting client area.

Put this on autopilot.

Turn it on in minutes - or have our team set it up for you.
