Automated Vanguard Portfolio Drift Report

On the first Monday of each month, WebRun opens Vanguard, reads your current holdings and their dollar value, compares the resulting allocation to the target percentages you set for stocks, bonds, and cash, logs the drift to a Google Sheet, and drafts a Gmail summary flagging any allocation more than 5 points off target.

In short

How do I know when my Vanguard portfolio has drifted from its target allocation?

WebRun reads your Vanguard holdings once a month and compares the resulting allocation to the target percentages you set for stocks, bonds, and cash. It logs the drift to a Google Sheet and drafts a Gmail summary flagging any category more than 5 points off target, so rebalancing decisions are based on real numbers, not guesswork.

  • Drift is measured in real points against your own target, not a generic benchmark
  • A full drift history builds in Sheets so you can see how often rebalancing is really needed
  • Nothing is ever bought or sold automatically. Every rebalance decision stays yours

Questions, answered

Will WebRun rebalance my Vanguard portfolio automatically?

No. WebRun only calculates how far your allocation has drifted and reports it. It never places a trade, never sells or buys a fund, and any rebalancing is done by you directly on Vanguard.

How is the target allocation set?

You define your target percentages for each category, such as stocks, bonds, and cash, when you turn the template on. WebRun compares today's real allocation against exactly that target.

What counts as drifted enough to flag?

A category more than 5 points off its target by default. That threshold can be tightened for a more conservative portfolio or loosened for one you rebalance less often.

Put this on autopilot.

Turn it on in minutes - or have our team set it up for you.
