Automated Slack Unanswered Question Tracking
Every morning, WebRun opens the Slack channels you nominate, finds messages that asked a question or requested something and never got a reply or a reaction, creates one Trello card per orphaned ask with the author, channel and permalink, and posts a recap to Microsoft Teams so the people who work outside Slack still see what is waiting.
How do I find questions in Slack that nobody answered?
WebRun scans the Slack channels you nominate every morning for questions and requests that got no reply, no thread and no reaction. It creates one Trello card per orphaned ask with the author, permalink and an assigned owner, then posts a recap to Microsoft Teams for teammates who work outside Slack.
- Questions asked in a busy channel stop vanishing overnight
- Every orphaned ask gets an owner instead of hoping someone notices
- Teammates outside Slack still see what the team is waiting on

1
Slack - find questions with no reply
WebRun opens Slack to find questions with no reply. - Open each Slack channel on your watch list in turn
- Read messages from the last 24 hours and pick out the ones asking a question or requesting an action
- Skip anything that already has a thread reply, a reaction, or an answer later in the channel
- Capture the author, channel, timestamp, the text of the ask and the message permalink
- Note whether the message @-mentioned anyone, since an unanswered direct mention matters more
- Flag asks that repeat something already unanswered from an earlier day
Done when Every unanswered question from the last day is captured with its author, channel and permalink.
-
2
Trello - create a card per orphaned ask
WebRun opens Trello to create a card per orphaned ask. - Open your team board and create one card per unanswered ask in the Needs an Answer list
- Title the card with a short version of the question and put the full text plus the Slack permalink in the description
- Assign the card to whoever was @-mentioned, or to the channel owner when nobody was
- Label cards by channel so the board shows where questions keep going unanswered
- Close out cards whose Slack message has since been answered
Done when Every orphaned ask is a Trello card with an owner and a link back to the message.
-
3
Microsoft Teams - recap it for everyone else
WebRun opens Microsoft Teams to recap it for everyone else. - Post the recap to your Microsoft Teams channel for the people who do not live in Slack
- List each unanswered ask with its author, the channel it came from and who now owns the card
- Show how many asks were answered since yesterday and how many are still open
- Never reply in the Slack thread on your behalf and never message the asker. WebRun routes the question to a human who answers it
Done when The recap of unanswered asks is posted in Microsoft Teams.
How is each run configured?
Secure by default
Connect once, stays signed in
WebRun signs in once and keeps each session in a persistent environment, so every run picks up right where it left off.
Every action is checked against this policy before it runs.
Questions, answered
Will it reply to messages in Slack for me?
No. WebRun reads the channels you nominate and never posts a reply, a reaction or a direct message to anyone. It creates the Trello card and the Teams recap, and a human writes the actual answer.
Which channels does it read?
Only the channels you nominate. WebRun does not scan direct messages, private channels you did not list, or anything outside that watch list, so sensitive conversations stay out of the run entirely.
How does it know a question was answered?
It checks for a thread reply, a reaction, or a later message in the channel that responds to it. Anything with one of those signals is skipped, and cards for questions answered since yesterday are closed out.
Put this on autopilot.
Turn it on in minutes - or have our team set it up for you.
