In short

How do I keep a record of every trade I closed, fees included?

Every night, WebRun opens your eToro account statement, reads the positions closed that day, and records the instrument, quantity, open and close dates, realised profit, and every fee. It appends each one to your Google Sheets log and files a running monthly summary in Notion for your accountant.

  • A complete closed position record builds through the year instead of being reconstructed
  • Fees are logged separately from realised profit on every row
  • A missed night is backfilled on the next run with no duplicate rows

Built for retail investors · accountants · bookkeepers · self-employed traders

Step by step

What does WebRun do on every run?

The exact actions WebRun takes, in order - in plain language, so you can adjust anything.

  1. WebRun signs in and gets to work

Opens www.etoro.com in a real browser with your saved login - no setup, no API keys.

  2. 1
eToro - read the day's closed positions
    etoro.com
WebRun in eToro: read the day's closed positions
WebRun opens eToro to read the day's closed positions.
    • Sign in to eToro and open the account statement for the day just finished
    • Capture every position closed since the last run, with the instrument, direction, and quantity
    • Record the open date, the close date, the open and close prices, and the realised profit or loss
    • Record the fees charged against each position separately, so the net figure is traceable
    • Read only. WebRun never opens, closes, or copies a position and never moves money

Done when Every position closed since the last run is captured with its dates, result, and fees.

  3. 2
Notion - keep the monthly summary
    notion.so
WebRun in Notion: keep the monthly summary
WebRun opens Notion to keep the monthly summary.
    • Open the trading records page and update the current month's summary
    • Total the realised profit, the total fees, and the number of positions closed so far this month
    • Keep the running year to date figures beside it so the file is ready when it is needed
    • Note any day where the statement could not be read, rather than leaving a silent gap

Done when The monthly summary reflects every position closed to date, with fees kept separate.

  4. 3
Google Sheets - append to the position log
    google.com
WebRun in Google Sheets: append to the position log
WebRun opens Google Sheets to append to the position log.
    • Open the closed position log and append one row per closed position
    • Fill in instrument, direction, quantity, open date, close date, realised profit, and fees
    • Skip any position already logged, matching on the position reference from the statement
    • Keep the sheet in date order so a tax year can be filtered out in one step

Done when The log holds one row per closed position, with no duplicates and no gaps.

Good to know

Questions, answered

Will it place or close trades?

No. WebRun only reads your eToro account statement. It never opens or closes a position, never copies a trader, never deposits or withdraws, and it gives no opinion on what you should trade.

Does it capture fees separately from profit?

Yes. Every fee shown against a closed position is logged in its own column, so the realised profit and the cost of getting it stay separate in the record.

What if a night is missed?

The next run reads back to the last position it logged and fills the gap, matching on the position reference so nothing is written twice.

Put this on autopilot.

Turn it on in minutes - or have our team set it up for you.
