Automated Disqus Comment Reply Drafts

Every morning, WebRun opens your Disqus moderation home, reads yesterday's comments across your sites, picks out the genuine questions nobody from your team has answered, drafts a reply for each without posting it, lists them in Microsoft Teams, and queues an SMS in Twilio when a question has sat unanswered too long.

In short

How do I make sure reader questions in comments get answered?

WebRun opens Disqus every morning, reads yesterday's comments across your sites, and finds the genuine questions no team account has answered. It drafts an on-brand reply for each without posting, lists them in Microsoft Teams for approval, and queues a Twilio SMS when a question passes 48 hours.

  • Reader questions get an answer within a day, not a week
  • Replies arrive pre-written, so approving takes one read
  • Nothing is posted publicly without a human approving it

Built for publishers · community managers · content teams · bloggers

Step by step

What does WebRun do on every run?

The exact actions WebRun takes, in order - in plain language, so you can adjust anything.

  1. WebRun signs in and gets to work

Opens disqus.com/home in a real browser with your saved login - no setup, no API keys.

  2. 1
Disqus - find unanswered reader questions
    disqus.com
WebRun in Disqus: find unanswered reader questions
WebRun opens Disqus to find unanswered reader questions.
    • Open the Disqus moderation home and load yesterday's comments across every site you own
    • Pick out comments that ask a direct question and have no reply from a team account
    • Draft a short, on-brand answer against each one and leave it unposted for review, noting the article it belongs to and how long it has waited

Done when Every unanswered question has a drafted reply waiting for approval.

  3. 2
Microsoft Teams - list the drafted replies
    microsoft.com
WebRun in Microsoft Teams: list the drafted replies
WebRun opens Microsoft Teams to list the drafted replies.
    • Post the list to your content channel, longest waiting question first
    • Show the article, the question, and the drafted answer so a human can approve or rewrite in one read
    • Separate questions needing a subject expert from the ones the drafted answer already covers

Done when Every drafted reply is in the content channel for approval.

  4. 3
Twilio - queue an SMS on the urgent ones
    twilio.com
WebRun in Twilio: queue an SMS on the urgent ones
WebRun opens Twilio to queue an SMS on the urgent ones.
    • Draft an SMS to the on-duty community manager when a question has waited more than 48 hours
    • Queue it in Twilio and leave it unsent for approval
    • Skip the SMS on days when nothing has waited past the threshold

Done when An escalation SMS is queued for approval, or the day is confirmed clear.

Questions, answered

Will it post replies publicly on its own?

No. Every answer is drafted and left unposted. A human approves and posts it in Disqus. The escalation SMS is queued in Twilio unsent as well, so nothing public or outbound happens without you.

How does it tell a question from a comment?

It reads each comment for a direct question to the author or the brand, then checks whether any team account has already replied in the thread, so answered threads never resurface.

Can it work across several sites?

Yes. It walks every site on your Disqus moderation home and groups the Teams list by site, so a publisher with many properties gets one review queue.

Put this on autopilot.

Turn it on in minutes - or have our team set it up for you.
