How to Automate Molo
In Molo, recurring reservations invoice each month, the autocharge run collects from cards on file, Bulk Renewals rolls contracts forward and a failed charge triggers a pay-online email. Chasing unsigned contracts, lapsing insurance and a free slip's next tenant is office work; with an AI agent such as WebRun reading Molo's reports, the drafts can be waiting for the dockmaster.
Molo maps every slip a marina rents and the boat in it
A marina rents water by the foot. Annual slip holders, seasonal boats, winter storage customers and the transient boat that calls on a Friday afternoon all need a space, a contract and an invoice, and Molo is the software marinas and boatyards keep them in. Storable Marine now sells it as Storable Molo, and getmolo.com redirects to Storable's site, though staff still sign in at app.getmolo.com.
The marina map lays out every dock and slip. Behind each space sit its rates, whether seasonal, annual, recurring or transient, and the contact and vessel records with each boat's length and beam. The point of sale takes counter sales, the service yard runs work orders, and boaters sign contracts and upload documents in the customer portal.
The office manager, the dockmaster with a tablet on the pier and the bookkeeper at month end all work in it, at one marina or across several.
Renewal season and haul-out run through the dock office
Marina paperwork comes in seasons. In the fall every annual slip holder needs next year's contract, and anyone who has not signed by the deadline has to be chased before the slip is offered to someone else. Ahead of haul-out, the office works out which of last winter's storage customers have not booked a spot yet.
The waiting list lives wherever the office keeps it, a spreadsheet or a binder. When a slip comes free, the office manager works down the names, checks whose boat fits the length and beam, and phones the people at the top.
Insurance certificates expire all year and are asked for one boater at a time. After each autopay run, the declined cards need a call, usually from the same person who is answering the phone and the VHF.
Recurring reservations invoice themselves at 4am on the 26th
Next month's slip invoices are already built by the time the office opens on the 26th, because recurring reservations create them overnight. The autocharge run on the Statements page charges every boater set up for automatic charging and emails them the statement, and when a charge fails the email carries a Pay Online Now link. Bulk Renewals rolls a whole dock of seasonal or recurring reservations into next year at once, and contracts go out by email for signing and payment online. Pre-arrival and departure emails send themselves, Bulk Email reaches all contacts or a recent group from a message template, and Storable lists 80-plus built-in reports.
The Reservation Agreements Report shows whose terms are still unaccepted, and the customer portal shows those boaters a red Unsigned button; a personal reminder to each is the office's to write. The Vessel Insurance Report highlights expired policies in red, and the office asks each boater for the renewed certificate. Replies to Molo's emails land in the office inbox, and the waiting list sits outside the reports altogether.
A slip that comes free goes to a waiting-list boat that fits
A 40-foot slip on B dock that comes free in March goes to the dockmaster as three names from the waiting list whose boats fit its length and beam, each with an offer to send or discard.
In renewal season, the office manager's Monday reminders go to each annual holder whose terms are still unaccepted, with the rate and the deadline, until the Reservation Agreements Report shows them signed. In September, last winter's storage customers with no reservation for this season come up with their boat and last year's rate.
Policies expiring next month come off the Vessel Insurance Report with a note to each boater asking for the new certificate through the portal's Files section. A few days after the autocharge run, the office manager calls the boaters whose charge failed and who have still not paid, a second touch after Molo's own email. An owner who never opens Molo gets the Space Occupancy report, by dock, in a spreadsheet each week.
The Reservation Agreements Report is where WebRun starts each Monday
Every Monday in renewal season the same two reports need reading boater by boater: Reservation Agreements and Vessel Insurance. WebRun is an AI agent that works a real Chrome browser, signed in as you. Molo allows unlimited users and more than 50 permissions, so the owner can give WebRun a limited user with Statements, Invoices, New Sale and Edit Contact denied.
WebRun renews no contract, runs no autocharge and moves no boat on the map, and the dockmaster sends every offer and reminder.
In the fall the renewal and winter storage workflows carry most of the load, while the waitlist offer waits for a free slip and the insurance and autopay checks run all year.
Questions people ask
Getmolo.com now opens Storable Marine. Is this the same Molo?
Yes. Storable Marine sells the product as Storable Molo, and getmolo.com redirects to storablemarine.com. Staff still sign in to the web app at app.getmolo.com, and the reports, contracts and billing tools described here are the ones documented in Molo's own support portal.
Who decides which waiting-list boat gets a free slip?
The dockmaster. WebRun reads the slip's dimensions in Molo, filters your waiting list to boats that fit and drafts offers to the top names; staff take the reservation and deposit in Molo as usual.
Which Molo access points should WebRun's user have denied?
Anything that moves money or changes a boater's record: Statements, Invoices, New Sale and New Credit Note, plus Edit Contact and Delete Contact. To do its reading it needs the Reports page, reservations, contacts and vessels.
Does it cover every marina when we run several in Molo?
Yes, if WebRun's user can see each marina. It works through them in turn and returns one list per marina, or one combined list marked by location for the owner.
