How is the loss rate calculated?
It divides the hives lost by the starting count for each apiary site, read from MyApiary, and expresses it as a percentage, then adds an overall figure so you can compare sites and see the whole operation at once.
Can it show why hives were lost?
Yes, where causes are recorded. It reads the dead-out cause noted in MyApiary, such as starvation, varroa, or queen failure, and breaks the losses down by cause so patterns across the season are visible.
