Automated Anaplan Submission Tracking
Every morning during the planning cycle, WebRun signs in to Anaplan, checks each cost centre or region for whether its numbers have been entered and submitted, updates the submission tracker in Airtable, and posts the outstanding list to Notion with days remaining until the deadline.
How do I track which teams have submitted their budget numbers?
WebRun signs in to Anaplan each morning during the planning cycle, checks whether each cost centre or region has entered and submitted its numbers, updates the submission tracker in Airtable, and publishes the outstanding list to Notion with each owner and the days left before the deadline.
- The finance lead knows every morning who is still outstanding
- Chasing starts days before the deadline instead of the night before
- Half-finished submissions are separated from genuine blanks
Built for FP&A teams · finance business partners · budget owners · corporate planning teams
What does WebRun do on every run?
The exact actions WebRun takes, in order - in plain language, so you can adjust anything.
-
WebRun signs in and gets to work
Opens
anaplan.comin a real browser with your saved login - no setup, no API keys. -
1
Anaplan - check who has submitted
WebRun opens Anaplan to check who has submitted. - Sign in to Anaplan and open the model for the current planning cycle
- Go through each cost centre, region or entity in scope for this cycle
- Record whether its numbers are still blank, part entered or fully submitted
- Note the date of the last change for each one
- Flag any submission that came in but sits obviously incomplete, for example a whole line left at zero
Done when Every entity in the cycle has a status of blank, part entered or submitted.
-
2
Airtable - update the submission tracker
WebRun opens Airtable to update the submission tracker. - Open your planning cycle tracker in Airtable
- Update each entity's row with today's status and the date it last changed
- Set the owner field from your existing contributor list rather than guessing a name
- Calculate days remaining until the submission deadline and write it to each row
- Leave a dated note on any row that has not moved since the last run
Done when The Airtable tracker matches the live state of the model this morning.
-
3
Notion - publish the outstanding list
WebRun opens Notion to publish the outstanding list. - Update the planning cycle page in Notion the finance team already reads
- Show the headline count of submitted against expected and the days left
- List the outstanding entities with their owner and how many days they have been silent
- Put the ones that have not moved at all at the top
- Leave the chasing message itself to the finance lead. No contributor is emailed by this run
Done when The finance team has today's submission picture on the Notion cycle page.
How is each run configured?
Secure by default
Connect once, stays signed in
WebRun signs in once and keeps each session in a persistent environment, so every run picks up right where it left off.
Every action is checked against this policy before it runs.
Questions, answered
Does it change any numbers in Anaplan?
No. WebRun reads the model and writes nothing back. It never enters a figure, submits on someone's behalf or changes a version, so the planning data stays exactly as the contributors left it.
Will it email the people who are late?
No. The outstanding list is published internally to Notion and tracked in Airtable. The finance lead decides who gets chased and writes that message personally.
How does it spot a submission that is incomplete?
It flags entries that came in but sit obviously unfinished, for example an entire line left at zero, and marks them separately from genuine blanks so the finance team can query them before the deadline.
Put this on autopilot.
