Automated Airbyte Usage Reporting

Every Monday, WebRun opens Airbyte Cloud, reads the usage figures shown on your billing page and the volume synced by each connection, ranks the connections by how much of the month's usage they account for, posts the report to Telegram, and texts you when the current pace would take the month past the budget you set.

In short

How do I see which data pipeline is using most of my sync budget?

WebRun opens Airbyte Cloud every Monday, reads the month-to-date usage on your billing page, and ranks each connection by the volume it synced. It posts the burn report to Telegram and texts you only when the current pace would take the month past the budget you set.

  • The connection driving the bill is named every Monday
  • Budget overruns get flagged mid month, not on the invoice
  • A sudden volume jump is spotted the week it starts

Step by step

What does WebRun do on every run?

The exact actions WebRun takes, in order - in plain language, so you can adjust anything.

  1. WebRun signs in and gets to work

Opens cloud.airbyte.com in a real browser with your saved login - no setup, no API keys.

  2. 1
Airbyte - read usage per connection
    airbyte.com
WebRun in Airbyte: read usage per connection
WebRun opens Airbyte to read usage per connection.
    • Open Airbyte Cloud and go to the billing and usage view for your workspace
    • Read the month-to-date usage and the balance remaining as Airbyte reports them
    • Open each connection and capture the volume it has synced this month and its sync frequency
    • Rank the connections by share of the month's usage and note which ones grew against last week

Done when Month-to-date usage is captured and every connection has its share of it.

  3. 2
Telegram - post the ranked burn report
    telegram.org
WebRun in Telegram: post the ranked burn report
WebRun opens Telegram to post the ranked burn report.
    • Post the ranked burn report to your data engineering channel
    • Show each connection with its share of usage, its sync frequency, and the change since last week
    • Call out any connection whose volume jumped sharply, with the source and destination named
    • Add the month-to-date total and the projected end-of-month figure at the current pace

Done when The data channel has this week's ranked usage report.

  4. 3
Twilio - text you if the month runs hot
    twilio.com
WebRun in Twilio: text you if the month runs hot
WebRun opens Twilio to text you if the month runs hot.
    • Draft a short text when the projected month-end usage would pass the budget you set
    • Name the projected figure, the budget, and the two connections driving most of the burn
    • Send it only to the data owner number saved on your Twilio account
    • Hold any message addressed to a number outside that saved list as a draft for you to approve

Done when You have been warned by text on any week the month is tracking over budget.

Questions, answered

Will it pause or change my connections?

No. WebRun only reads your Airbyte workspace. It never pauses a connection, changes a sync frequency, or edits a source or destination. Every decision about what to throttle stays with your team.

Where do the usage numbers come from?

Directly from the billing and usage view in your own Airbyte workspace and the volume shown against each connection. WebRun copies what Airbyte reports and never estimates a figure of its own.

Will it text me every week?

No. The Telegram report posts weekly, but the text is exception-only. It goes out only when the projected month-end usage would pass the budget you set, and only to the number saved on your account.

Put this on autopilot.

Turn it on in minutes - or have our team set it up for you.
