Automated Toast Overtime Risk Alerts

Every afternoon, WebRun reads Toast's labor and scheduling data, calculates the hours each employee has worked so far this week plus their remaining scheduled hours, flags anyone projected to exceed 40 hours, and posts a Slack alert to the manager so the schedule can be adjusted before overtime kicks in.

In short

How do I automatically detect overtime risk in Toast POS before the week ends?

WebRun reads Toast's labor and scheduling data every afternoon, adds up hours worked so far this week for each employee plus their remaining scheduled shifts, and sends a Slack alert listing anyone projected to exceed 40 hours. Managers have time to adjust the schedule before overtime kicks in and the extra cost is locked in.

  • Overtime risk flagged mid-week while schedules can still be adjusted
  • Projected hours calculated from actual time clocked plus remaining shifts
  • Separate thresholds configurable per job title for different labor rules

Built for restaurant managers · restaurant owners · multi-location operators · payroll administrators

Questions, answered

Will WebRun change any employee's schedule in Toast?

No. WebRun only flags the risk in Slack. All schedule changes are made by the manager in Toast.

Does it account for employees who have already hit overtime this week?

Yes. The projection uses actual hours already clocked in Toast plus remaining scheduled hours, so employees already in overtime are flagged immediately.

Can I set a lower threshold for tipped employees who have different overtime rules?

Yes. You can configure a different hourly threshold per job title or employee category during setup to match your local labor rules.
