In short

How do I spot job ads getting views but no applications?

Every Monday, WebRun opens StepStone, reads the impressions, clicks, and applications on each live job ad, and works out which listings get traffic but almost no applicants. It logs every ad in Airtable and posts the underperformers to Microsoft Teams with the days left before the ad ends.

  • Weak ads get rewritten while there is still runway on the listing
  • Every ad is measured against your own average, week over week
  • One Airtable base holds the full history of what each listing produced

Step by step

What does WebRun do on every run?

The exact actions WebRun takes, in order - in plain language, so you can adjust anything.

  1. WebRun signs in and gets to work

Opens www.stepstone.com in a real browser with your saved login - no setup, no API keys.

  2. 1
StepStone - read views and applications per ad
    stepstone.com

WebRun opens StepStone to read views and applications per ad.
    • Sign into StepStone and list every job ad currently live
    • Read the impressions, clicks, and applications for each ad
    • Work out the applications per click and per impression for each listing
    • Note the job title, location, and the ad end date so runway is known
    • Compare each ad against the average across your own live ads for the same period

Done when Every live ad has its traffic, its application count, and its days remaining.

  3. 2
Airtable - log the weekly numbers
    airtable.com
WebRun in Airtable: log the weekly numbers
WebRun opens Airtable to log the weekly numbers.
    • Write one row per live ad into your recruitment marketing base in Airtable
    • Record impressions, clicks, applications, and the week they belong to
    • Keep previous weeks so a listing can be read as a trend, not a snapshot
    • Mark rows for ads that have since ended so the base holds the full history

Done when This week's numbers are in Airtable beside the earlier weeks.

  4. 3
Microsoft Teams - flag ads worth rewriting
    microsoft.com
WebRun in Microsoft Teams: flag ads worth rewriting
WebRun opens Microsoft Teams to flag ads worth rewriting.
    • Post to your recruiting channel in Microsoft Teams the ads getting views with few or no applications
    • Show impressions, clicks, applications, and days left before the ad ends
    • Put the ads with the most runway first, since those are the ones still worth fixing
    • Leave editing, boosting, or paying to extend an ad to a person. WebRun never changes or buys a listing

Done when The recruiting team has this week's underperforming ads with their runway.

Questions, answered

Will it edit or boost my job ads?

No. WebRun only reads the performance figures and reports them. Rewriting an ad, boosting it, or paying to extend a listing stays with a person, so nothing is changed or charged on its own.

What counts as underperforming?

An ad getting impressions and clicks while its application count sits well below the average across your own live ads for the same period. The comparison is to your own listings, not an invented benchmark.

Why does it show days left on the ad?

Because a rewrite only helps while the listing is still running. Ads with the most runway are listed first so effort goes where it can still change the outcome.

Put this on autopilot.

Turn it on in minutes - or have our team set it up for you.
