In short

How do I automatically route SpotOn online orders to the correct kitchen station?

WebRun checks SpotOn Online Ordering every few minutes for new orders, reads each item mix and order type, and posts a routing note to the kitchen ops Slack channel so the right station gets the ticket immediately. Pickup orders also get a pre-filled customer SMS queued in Twilio for a staff member to send once the order is ready.

  • New online orders reach the correct station in seconds without voice calls
  • Customer pickup notifications queued and ready to send the moment the order is done
  • Multi-station orders flagged automatically so the expediter is never caught off guard

Questions, answered

Will it text customers automatically when their order is ready?

No. Customer SMS messages are drafted and queued in Twilio, but a staff member must review and send each one. The system never texts a guest without human confirmation.

How does it decide which kitchen station to route an order to?

Routing is based on the order type and item categories you configure: grill items go to the grill station, cold prep to the salad station, and so on. Multi-station orders are flagged for the expediter.

Does it handle both pickup and delivery orders?

Yes. Pickup orders get a queued customer SMS draft. Delivery orders get a Slack routing note with the delivery address and window, ready for your delivery coordinator to assign a driver.
