Automated Shopify Low Stock Reorder Alerts

Every morning and afternoon, WebRun opens Shopify, scans inventory across all your locations, and posts a Slack alert for every SKU below your reorder threshold so your buying team can place restocks before a stockout hits either your online store or any POS location.

In short

How do I get automatic low-stock alerts across all my Shopify locations?

WebRun scans Shopify inventory twice a day across all your locations and posts a Slack alert listing every SKU that has fallen below its reorder point. The alert ranks items by urgency, showing the lowest-stock locations first, so your buying team can act before a stockout hits online or in-store.

  • Low-stock SKUs flagged twice daily before they hit zero online or in-store
  • Buying team gets a prioritized list ranked by urgency, not alphabetically
  • No more manual inventory checks before placing reorders

Built for omnichannel retailers · Shopify store owners · retail buying teams · inventory managers

Step by step

What does WebRun do on every run?

The exact actions WebRun takes, in order - in plain language, so you can adjust anything.

  1. WebRun signs in and gets to work

Opens admin.shopify.com/products/inventory in a real browser with your saved login - no setup, no API keys.

    • Open Shopify Admin and go to Products, then Inventory
    • Filter to products whose available quantity at any location is at or below the reorder point
    • Capture the SKU, product name, current quantity per location, and the reorder point
    • Sort by most critical first: SKUs at zero, then lowest quantity, then fastest-moving

Done when All SKUs at or below reorder threshold are listed with location-level quantities.

Questions, answered

Will it place purchase orders automatically?

No. WebRun only surfaces which SKUs are below threshold. Placing a reorder is a human decision, so the buying team acts on the Slack alert themselves.

How do I set my reorder points?

Set your reorder points directly in Shopify Admin under each product variant. WebRun reads those values each run, so any change you make in Shopify takes effect on the next scan.

What if the same SKU is low at multiple locations?

WebRun shows the quantity at each location separately so the buying team can see which store needs stock most urgently and allocate accordingly.

Put this on autopilot.

Turn it on in minutes - or have our team set it up for you.
