Automated Delayed Transport Trip Alerts

Every few minutes, WebRun opens Patient Focused Systems, checks every active transport trip against its target pickup and dropoff time, flags the ones running late, and posts the dispatch team a Slack alert naming the trip, the porter, and how many minutes overdue it is.

In short

How do I get alerted when a patient transport trip is running late?

WebRun checks every active trip in Patient Focused Systems every few minutes, comparing elapsed time against each trip's target pickup and dropoff window. The moment a trip runs late, it posts your dispatch team a Slack alert naming the trip, the assigned porter, and the exact minutes overdue, so nobody discovers a delay only after a unit calls to complain.

  • Dispatch sees a delayed trip within minutes instead of after a unit calls
  • Every alert names the trip, porter, and exact minutes overdue
  • Completed trips drop off the list automatically with no manual clearing

Questions, answered

Does this contact the patient about the delay?

No. WebRun only posts to your internal dispatch Slack channel. It never messages the patient, a family member, or the requesting unit directly, that stays a human call.

How late does a trip have to be before it's flagged?

By default a trip is flagged once it passes its target pickup or dropoff window, the same threshold set in Patient Focused Systems. You can widen or tighten that window in your run settings.

What happens once a delayed trip finally completes?

It reads the live trip status each pass, so a trip that completes drops off the delay list automatically. Nothing needs to be cleared by hand.
