Automated Printify Margin Reporting

Every Monday, WebRun opens Printify, reads the production cost, shipping cost, and retail price for every published product, works out the margin per item and per variant, writes the full table into Notion, and posts every product below your margin floor to Microsoft Teams for a pricing decision.

In short

How do I track profit margins on my print-on-demand products?

WebRun reviews your Printify margins every Monday. It reads production cost, shipping, and retail price for every published product and variant, calculates the margin on each, logs the table in Notion with week-over-week cost changes, and posts products below your floor to Microsoft Teams.

  • Loss-making variants are found before a season of orders goes out
  • Provider cost rises are seen the week they happen
  • Margin history lives in Notion instead of a rebuilt spreadsheet

Built for print-on-demand sellers · ecommerce operators · merch brands · Shopify and Etsy store owners

Step by step

What does WebRun do on every run?

The exact actions WebRun takes, in order - in plain language, so you can adjust anything.

  1. WebRun signs in and gets to work

Opens printify.com in a real browser with your saved login - no setup, no API keys.

  2. 1
Printify - read costs and retail prices

    • Sign in to Printify and open your product catalogue for each connected store
    • For every published product, capture the print provider, production cost, shipping cost, and your retail price
    • Do the same at variant level for sizes and colours priced differently
    • Calculate the margin in currency and as a percentage for each variant
    • Note any product whose production cost changed since last week

Done when Every published product and variant has a current cost, price, and margin.

  3. 2
Notion - log the margin table

    • Open your product margin database in Notion
    • Update each product row with this week's cost, price, and margin
    • Add a column showing the week-over-week change in production cost
    • Keep last week's values in a history block so the trend is visible

Done when The Notion margin table reflects this week's costs and shows the change.

  4. 3
Microsoft Teams - flag the thin margins
    microsoft.com
WebRun in Microsoft Teams: flag the thin margins
WebRun opens Microsoft Teams to flag the thin margins.
    • Post the weekly margin summary to your store channel in Microsoft Teams
    • List every product below your margin floor with its cost, price, and current margin
    • Call out any product whose provider cost rose this week, since those are the ones about to slip
    • Leave the repricing decision to a person. Never change a price automatically

Done when The store channel has this week's thin-margin shortlist.

Questions, answered

Will it change my product prices?

No. WebRun reads costs and prices and reports the margin. Every repricing decision is made by a person inside Printify or your store.

Does it handle variants priced differently?

Yes. Margin is calculated at variant level as well as product level, so a single loss-making size or colour is not hidden by the product average.

How do I know when a provider raised their cost?

Each row carries the week-over-week change in production cost, and any product whose cost rose is called out in the Teams post before the margin actually slips.

Put this on autopilot.

Turn it on in minutes - or have our team set it up for you.
