Automated ModMed Imaging Results Follow-Up

Every morning, WebRun opens ModMed and scans outstanding imaging orders for X-rays, MRIs, and CT scans that do not yet have a result returned, identifies those that are overdue based on expected turnaround, logs the worklist in Google Sheets, and sends a summary to the clinical team via Telegram so providers can follow up before patient appointments are affected.

In short

How do I automatically follow up on outstanding orthopedic imaging results?

WebRun opens ModMed every morning and reviews all outstanding imaging orders for X-rays, MRIs, and CT scans with no result returned, ranks them in Google Sheets by urgency based on the patient's next appointment, and sends a summary to your clinical team in Telegram so providers can chase results before they are needed at the point of care.

  • No imaging result is missing at the point of care because it was chased the day before
  • Studies ranked by appointment proximity so the most urgent are addressed first
  • Overdue results are surfaced within hours, not discovered at the patient's next visit

Questions, answered

Will it contact the imaging center or patient about missing results on its own?

No. WebRun flags overdue studies in the worklist for staff to follow up. Any outreach to an imaging center or patient is handled by your team, keeping communications accurate and PHI protected.

How does it decide which studies are overdue?

It uses configurable turnaround thresholds by study type: X-rays flagged after 1 day, MRI and CT after 2 days. You can adjust these thresholds to match your imaging partners' typical turnaround.

What if a result was received but not attached in ModMed?

Those studies will appear in the worklist as overdue, which serves as a useful prompt to check whether the result arrived via fax or another channel and needs to be manually attached in ModMed.

Put this on autopilot.

Turn it on in minutes - or have our team set it up for you.
