FinQuery Automated ROU Asset Impairment Review Flags

Each quarter, WebRun opens FinQuery and reviews all active ROU assets for impairment triggering events: early termination decisions, significant modifications reducing scope, locations flagged as partially or fully vacated, or leases with a remaining term shorter than originally expected. It compiles a prioritized flag list and posts it to Slack so your team can initiate a formal ASC 842 impairment assessment before the quarter closes.

In short

How do I automatically flag ROU assets that may need an impairment review under ASC 842?

WebRun reviews your FinQuery ROU asset portfolio each quarter, identifies assets with impairment triggering events such as early terminations, scope reductions, or shortened terms, and posts a ranked flag list to Slack with carrying values and trigger types. Your lease accounting team can then initiate formal assessments before the quarter closes.

  • ROU assets with impairment triggers identified before the quarter closes
  • Flags ranked by carrying value so the highest exposure is reviewed first
  • No impairment charge recorded without a formal accountant assessment

Questions, answered

Will it record an impairment charge automatically?

No. WebRun only flags assets that may need review. Recording an impairment requires a formal assessment by your accountants and is never automated.

What triggers does it look for?

It looks for early termination notices, modifications reducing scope or term, and leases with a remaining term shorter than the original schedule, all recorded in FinQuery.

Does it calculate the recoverable amount or the impairment loss?

No. It surfaces the triggering event and the ROU asset carrying value. Calculating the recoverable amount and determining whether a loss exists is a human accounting judgment performed after the flag is reviewed.
