Automated Job Bank Posting Expiry Alerts

Every morning, WebRun signs in to your Job Bank employer account, reads every live posting with its expiry date and applicant count, works out which roles are close to expiring and which are attracting nobody, posts the list to your recruiting Slack channel, and mirrors it to Microsoft Teams for the hiring managers.

In short

How do I track Job Bank postings before they expire?

WebRun signs in to your Job Bank employer account every morning and reads each live posting with its expiry date and applicant count. It flags anything expiring within seven days or attracting no applicants, then posts the list to Slack and mirrors it to Microsoft Teams for hiring managers.

  • No posting expires while the role is still open
  • Adverts attracting nobody are spotted in week two, not week six
  • Recruiters and hiring managers read the same list

Step by step

What does WebRun do on every run?

The exact actions WebRun takes, in order - in plain language, so you can adjust anything.

  1. WebRun signs in and gets to work

Opens www.jobbank.gc.ca in a real browser with your saved login - no setup, no API keys.

  2. 1

    • Flag any posting expiring inside the next seven days
    • Flag any posting older than two weeks with no applicants at all

  3. 2

    • Post the action list to your recruiting channel
    • Put postings expiring within seven days at the top with the exact expiry date
    • List postings with no applicants underneath so the ad copy can be reviewed
    • Add a totals line: live postings, total applicants, and how many expire this week

Done when The recruiting channel has today's expiry and applicant picture.

  4. 3
Microsoft Teams - brief the hiring managers
    microsoft.com
WebRun in Microsoft Teams: brief the hiring managers
WebRun opens Microsoft Teams to brief the hiring managers.
    • Mirror the same list into the hiring managers channel in Microsoft Teams
    • Group postings by department so each manager sees their own roles
    • Keep the wording identical to the Slack post so the two never disagree
    • Never repost, renew, or edit a job advert. Those stay for a person to do

Done when Hiring managers have the same list, grouped by department.

Good to know

Questions, answered

Will it renew or repost a job advert on its own?

No. Publishing is always a human decision. WebRun reads your postings and reports what is expiring, but it never renews, reposts, edits, or removes an advert on Job Bank.

Does it contact applicants?

No. WebRun reads applicant counts only and posts internal summaries to your own Slack and Teams channels. It never emails, messages, or screens a candidate.

Why flag postings with no applicants?

Because an advert running for two weeks with zero applicants usually needs a title, salary, or location fix. Flagging it early gives you time to revise before the posting expires.

Put this on autopilot.

Turn it on in minutes - or have our team set it up for you.
