Automated Cascade Testing Outreach

Every morning, WebRun opens Progeny Clinical, finds patients with a newly confirmed pathogenic or likely pathogenic result, drafts a family letter in DocuSign listing which relatives are at risk and why, and drafts a Gmail follow up inviting the patient to a call about sharing it, never contacting a relative on its own.

In short

How do I make sure at risk relatives are offered cascade testing after a positive result?

WebRun checks Progeny Clinical every morning for patients with a newly confirmed pathogenic result, pulls their pedigree to identify at risk relatives, and drafts a DocuSign family letter plus a Gmail follow up for the counselor. Nothing is sent to a relative directly. The counselor reviews both drafts first, so cascade testing conversations start faster without skipping patient consent.

  • Every newly positive result gets a drafted family letter the same morning
  • No relative is ever contacted without the patient and counselor involved first
  • Families who already discussed cascade testing are skipped automatically

Step by step

What does WebRun do on every run?

The exact actions WebRun takes, in order - in plain language, so you can adjust anything.

  1. WebRun signs in and gets to work

Opens app.progenygenetics.com in a real browser with your saved login - no setup, no API keys.

  2. 1
Progeny Clinical - find newly confirmed pathogenic results
    progenygenetics.com
WebRun in Progeny Clinical: find newly confirmed pathogenic results
WebRun opens Progeny Clinical to find newly confirmed pathogenic results.
    • Open Progeny Clinical and list patients whose result changed to pathogenic or likely pathogenic since the last check
    • Pull the pedigree to identify first and second degree relatives who would be considered at risk
    • Note whether a cascade testing conversation has already happened for this family

Done when Every newly positive patient is listed with their at risk relatives from the pedigree.

  3. 2
DocuSign - draft the family letter
    docusign.com
WebRun in DocuSign: draft the family letter
WebRun opens DocuSign to draft the family letter.
    • Draft a family letter envelope explaining the result and which relatives should consider testing
    • Pre fill the patient's name and the specific gene, leaving the relative's details blank for the counselor to add
    • Leave the envelope unsent. It is never sent to anyone until a counselor reviews and directs it

Done when A drafted, unsent family letter envelope exists in DocuSign for every newly positive patient.

  4. 3
Gmail - draft the patient follow up
    gmail.com
WebRun in Gmail: draft the patient follow up
WebRun opens Gmail to draft the patient follow up.
    • Draft a short message to the patient inviting them to a call about sharing the result with relatives
    • Reference the family letter as something the counselor will walk them through, not something already sent
    • Leave every message in Drafts for the counselor to review and send

Done when A drafted follow up message exists in Gmail for every newly positive patient.

Good to know

Questions, answered

Does it contact at risk relatives directly?

No. WebRun never contacts a relative. It only drafts a family letter for the patient to share and a follow up for the counselor, both held until a human reviews and sends them.

Who decides which relatives are named in the letter?

The counselor does. WebRun pre fills the patient's name and gene from the pedigree in Progeny Clinical, but leaves relative details blank for the counselor to complete and confirm.

What if the family already had this conversation?

It checks Progeny Clinical for a note that cascade testing was already discussed for that family, and skips drafting a new letter if one is on file.

Put this on autopilot.
