Automated Silo Quality Hold Release Alerts
Every hour, WebRun checks Silo for lots newly placed on or released from quality hold, posts a Slack alert telling the warehouse which lots to segregate or which are cleared to ship, and logs every hold and release in a Google Sheet with how long the hold lasted.
How do I alert my warehouse the instant a lot goes on or comes off quality hold?
Every hour, WebRun checks Silo for lots newly placed on or released from quality hold. It posts a Slack alert telling the warehouse which lots to segregate and which are cleared to ship, then logs every hold and release in a Google Sheet with how long the hold lasted, so nothing sits on hold unnoticed.
- Held lots get segregated the same hour, not after a picker grabs one by mistake
- Every hold and release is logged with duration for pattern spotting
- Releases are reported the moment a QA reviewer approves them in Silo, never automated

What does WebRun do on every run?
The exact actions WebRun takes, in order - in plain language, so you can adjust anything.
-
WebRun signs in and gets to work
Opens
usesilo.comin a real browser with your saved login - no setup, no API keys. -
1
Silo - check for new holds and releases
- Open Silo and check for any lot newly placed on quality hold or newly released since the last check
- Capture the lot, commodity, reason for hold, and the QA reviewer who placed or released it
- Note the quantity affected and its current location
Done when Every hold and release since the last check is identified with its lot and reason.
-
2
Slack - alert the warehouse to segregate or ship
WebRun opens Slack to alert the warehouse to segregate or ship. - Post an alert to the warehouse channel for each new hold, naming the lot, location, and reason so it gets physically segregated
- Post a separate alert for each release, naming the lot as cleared to ship
- Never mark a lot released in Silo. Only report what a QA reviewer has already decided
Done when Warehouse has a same-hour Slack alert for every hold placed and every hold released.
-
3
Google Sheets - log every hold and release
WebRun opens Google Sheets to log every hold and release. - Open the quality hold log
- Add a row when a hold starts, and update that row with the release date and duration when it clears
- Calculate how many hours or days each lot spent on hold
Done when The hold log has a current row for every lot that has been on hold, open or closed.
How is each run configured?
Secure by default
Connect once, stays signed in
WebRun signs in once and keeps each session in a persistent environment, so every run picks up right where it left off.
Every action is checked against this policy before it runs.
Questions, answered
Does it release the hold automatically?
No. WebRun only reports what a QA reviewer has already decided in Silo. Placing or releasing a quality hold is always a human decision made directly in Silo, never something WebRun does on its own.
How quickly does the warehouse find out about a new hold?
Within the hour. WebRun checks Silo on an hourly cycle during business hours, so a lot placed on hold gets a Slack alert the same hour it happens.
Does it tell customers a hold affected their order?
No. The Slack alert and hold log are internal only. Any customer-facing communication about a delayed or affected order is handled separately by your team.
