Automated Buildertrend Equipment Utilization Report

Every Monday, WebRun opens Buildertrend, reads the time logs and job assignments for each piece of excavation equipment, calculates hours used versus available, and posts a concise utilization report to Slack so you can redeploy idle machines and flag overworked ones for service.

In short

How do I track equipment utilization across my excavation projects?

WebRun reads Buildertrend equipment time logs and job assignments every Monday, calculates each machine's utilization rate for the prior week, and posts a ranked Slack report to your ops channel. Over-deployed machines needing service and idle machines ready for redeployment are flagged at the top so decisions happen fast.

  • Idle machines are identified and redeployed within days instead of weeks
  • Over-deployed machines are flagged before maintenance failures happen
  • Equipment ROI is visible weekly without manual log reviews

Built for excavation contractors · fleet managers · construction operations teams · equipment rental companies

Questions, answered

Does it track GPS location or telematics data?

No. WebRun reads the job assignment and time log data recorded in Buildertrend. For real-time GPS tracking, integrate a telematics tool separately.

What counts as over-deployed?

By default, any machine logged above 90% of available hours is flagged as over-deployed. You can adjust the threshold during setup to match your maintenance schedule.

Can it report on specific machine types only?

Yes. During setup you can filter by equipment type or tag, so the report focuses on excavators, graders, or any subset you choose.
