Automated Outstanding Check Reconciliation
Every month, WebRun opens QuickBooks, lists the outstanding checks, matches each against the cleared items on the bank statement, updates Simple Escheat so cleared checks drop off and only truly uncashed ones remain, and writes the full reconciliation to a Google Sheet.
How do I reconcile outstanding checks to the bank before they escheat automatically?
Every month, WebRun opens QuickBooks, matches each outstanding check against the cleared items on the bank statement, and separates the checks that cleared from those still uncashed. It updates Simple Escheat so cleared checks drop off and only genuine unclaimed property remains, then logs the full reconciliation to a Google Sheet with cleared and outstanding totals.
- Cleared checks leave your escheat list the month they clear the bank
- Only genuinely uncashed checks stay on the filing track
- Every reconciliation is logged to a Google Sheet with a dated trail

-
3
Google Sheets - log the reconciliation
WebRun logs the full check reconciliation to a Google Sheet. - Write the month's reconciliation to a Google Sheet with one row per check

Questions, answered
Will it remove a record before I have checked it?
It only closes a Simple Escheat record when the matching check is confirmed cleared on the bank statement, and it logs every change to a Google Sheet. You can review the full reconciliation, so no record is dropped without a visible trail.
How does it match a check to the bank statement?
It matches each outstanding check to a cleared item by check number and amount in QuickBooks, so a check that cleared is separated from one still uncashed before Simple Escheat is touched.
What happens to checks that are still uncashed?
They stay on the escheat track. WebRun leaves their Simple Escheat records in place so genuinely unclaimed checks continue toward dormancy and filing.
