In short

How do I automatically check insurance eligibility for dermatology appointments the night before?

WebRun pulls tomorrow's appointment list from ModMed each evening, checks the insurance eligibility status for every patient, and logs the results in Google Sheets. A Slack alert highlights any unverified or inactive policies so the billing team can resolve issues before the patient arrives, reducing claim denials and morning delays.

  • Every appointment's eligibility status is checked the night before without manual lookups
  • Billing staff have a clear list of issues to resolve before patients arrive
  • Claim denials from eligibility failures are reduced

Questions, answered

Does it contact patients or insurers directly?

No. WebRun reads eligibility status from ModMed and logs it internally. All follow-up with patients or insurers is handled by billing staff after reviewing the Slack alert.

What does the Google Sheet contain?

Each row has the patient name, appointment time, insurer, eligibility status, and any error codes from ModMed. It does not include clinical notes or diagnoses.

What if eligibility cannot be confirmed in ModMed?

Patients whose eligibility status is unverified or returns an error are flagged in the Slack report so billing staff can verify manually or call the insurer before the appointment.
