Automated Dermatology Appointment Reminders
Every morning, WebRun opens ModMed, finds appointments in the next 48 hours that have not yet received a reminder, drafts a personalized text and email for each patient, and posts the batch to Slack for staff to approve before any message is sent.
How do I automatically send appointment reminders to dermatology patients?
WebRun pulls the next 48 hours of appointments from ModMed each morning, drafts personalized SMS and email reminders via Twilio for patients not yet contacted, and posts the batch to Slack for staff review. No message reaches a patient until a team member approves it, reducing no-shows while keeping the practice in control.
- Upcoming appointments are identified and reminder drafts prepared each morning automatically
- No patient is contacted without staff review and approval
- Patients preferring phone calls are flagged separately for manual follow-up

Questions, answered
Will reminders be sent to patients without staff approval?
No. Every reminder is drafted and staged. Staff must review and approve the batch before any message is delivered to a patient.
What if a patient prefers a phone call?
Patients flagged in ModMed as requiring a phone call are surfaced separately in Slack so staff can handle them manually instead of sending a text.
Does it avoid sending duplicate reminders?
Yes. WebRun checks ModMed each run and only drafts reminders for appointments that have not already had one sent, preventing patients from receiving the same message twice.
