Automated Nuvolo Device Recall Alerts

Every morning, WebRun checks the FDA's public device recall database for new notices, matches each recalled model and serial number against your Nuvolo asset registry, and posts your biomedical engineering team a Microsoft Teams alert listing every affected asset and its location.

In short

How do I quickly find which of my medical devices are affected by a new FDA recall?

WebRun checks the FDA's public device recall database every morning for new notices, then matches each recalled manufacturer, model, and serial number against your Nuvolo asset registry. It posts your biomedical engineering team a Microsoft Teams alert listing every affected asset with its location, so recalled equipment is found in hours, not weeks.

  • Affected assets are identified within hours of a recall notice instead of during the next audit
  • Every match includes the exact location so equipment can be found fast
  • Risk level is flagged so the highest-risk assets get checked first

Step by step

What does WebRun do on every run?

The exact actions WebRun takes, in order - in plain language, so you can adjust anything.

  1. WebRun signs in and gets to work

Opens www.fda.gov/medical-devices/medical-device-recalls in a real browser with your saved login - no setup, no API keys.

  2. 1
FDA Recalls - check new device recall notices
    fda.gov
WebRun in FDA Recalls: check new device recall notices
WebRun opens FDA Recalls to check new device recall notices.
    • Open the FDA medical device recall database
    • Check for notices published since the last run
    • Capture the manufacturer, model number, and recall reason for each new notice

Done when Every new recall notice published since the last check is captured.

  3. 2
Nuvolo - match recalls to your asset registry
    nuvolo.com
WebRun in Nuvolo: match recalls to your asset registry
WebRun opens Nuvolo to match recalls to your asset registry.
    • Search the Nuvolo asset registry for matching manufacturer and model numbers
    • Cross check serial numbers against the recall's affected range where one is listed
    • Note the location, department, and assigned technician for every matching asset

Done when Every asset in Nuvolo that matches a new recall is listed with its location and owner.

  4. 3
Microsoft Teams - alert your team with affected assets
    microsoft.com
WebRun in Microsoft Teams: alert your team with affected assets
WebRun opens Microsoft Teams to alert your team with affected assets.
    • Post an alert to the biomedical engineering channel naming the recall and the manufacturer
    • List every affected asset with its location so it can be found and assessed
    • Flag the recall's stated risk level so the highest-risk assets are checked first

Done when Your team has today's recall alert in Microsoft Teams with every affected asset listed.

Questions, answered

Does it need a login for the FDA recall database?

No. It checks the FDA's public device recall database, which needs no account or login. Only Nuvolo requires you to connect an account.

Does it take recalled devices out of service automatically?

No. It only flags which of your assets match a new recall and where they are. Taking a device out of service, quarantining it, or contacting the manufacturer stays a decision for your team.

What if a recall doesn't list serial numbers?

It still matches on manufacturer and model number and surfaces every asset that could be affected, flagging that a serial-level check is needed before your team confirms which units to act on.

Put this on autopilot.

Turn it on in minutes - or have our team set it up for you.
