Automated AssemblyAI Transcription Job Log

Every hour, WebRun opens AssemblyAI, checks which transcription jobs finished since the last check, logs each one to Airtable with its audio length, status, and confidence score, and saves a readable summary doc to Notion for any transcript running over 30 minutes so long recordings get a starting point for review.

In short

How do I keep a log of every AssemblyAI transcription job?

Every hour, WebRun checks AssemblyAI for transcription jobs that finished, logs each one to Airtable with its length, status, and confidence score, and saves a full Notion page for any transcript over 30 minutes. This builds a searchable, complete log of every transcription job without anyone manually tracking what has come back.

  • Every transcription job is logged and searchable, not scattered across API calls
  • Long transcripts get a readable Notion page automatically
  • A failed job gets flagged in the log instead of silently vanishing

Good to know

Questions, answered

Does it submit new audio files for transcription?

No. WebRun only reads jobs that have already completed and logs the results. Submitting new audio stays something you or your app does directly in AssemblyAI.

Why do only long transcripts get a Notion page?

Shorter jobs are already fully covered by the Airtable log. A dedicated Notion page is reserved for longer transcripts, where having the full text in a readable doc actually helps.

What happens to a job that finished with an error?

It still gets logged in Airtable and is marked clearly as errored, so a failed job never just disappears from the record.

Put this on autopilot.
