Tekla PowerFab Automatic Project Margin Reports
Every Monday, WebRun opens Tekla PowerFab, pulls the estimated versus actual labor and material cost for every active job, checks the invoiced amount for each job in QuickBooks Online, calculates current margin, and posts a Slack digest to leadership ranking every job from tightest to healthiest margin.
How do I see which active jobs are actually making money each week?
WebRun compares estimated and actual labor, material, and burden cost for every active job in Tekla PowerFab each Monday, checks invoiced revenue in QuickBooks Online, and calculates current margin per job. It posts a ranked Slack digest to leadership showing which jobs are healthy and which have already passed their estimate, with a full cost breakdown for the tightest three.
- Jobs that passed their estimate get flagged the same week, not at project close
- Leadership gets one ranked margin view instead of pulling two separate reports
- The tightest jobs come with a full labor and material breakdown

Questions, answered
Does it change pricing or estimates on a job?
No. WebRun only reads and reports on existing cost and invoicing data. It never edits an estimate or a job's pricing, that stays with your estimator.
How is margin calculated?
It compares each job's actual cost to date in Tekla PowerFab against the amount invoiced in QuickBooks Online, so the number reflects real cost and real billed revenue, not just the original estimate.
What about jobs that haven't been invoiced yet?
They still appear in the digest using estimated versus actual cost only, with a note that revenue isn't yet reflected, so early jobs aren't skipped.
