In short

How do I automatically track and chase overdue sales tax remittances?

WebRun opens Avalara every Monday, finds every return with an unpaid balance or overdue remittance, cross-checks QuickBooks for posted payments, and posts a ranked Slack report with penalty estimates and days overdue. Sync gaps between the two systems are flagged separately, so finance knows exactly where to act.

  • Overdue remittances surface every Monday before penalties compound further
  • Finance team sees penalty estimates alongside the balance due for fast prioritization
  • QuickBooks sync gaps are flagged to prevent duplicate payments

Built for finance controllers · multistate e-commerce businesses · tax compliance teams · accounting departments

Questions, answered

Will it initiate any tax payments automatically?

No. WebRun reports overdue balances and penalty context but never initiates a payment or bank transfer. All remittance actions are taken by your finance team.

How does it calculate the penalty estimate?

It reads the penalty and interest figures shown in Avalara Returns for each overdue balance. If Avalara does not show a penalty estimate, it notes the days overdue so the team can apply the state's published rate manually.

What if a payment was made directly to the state but not posted in either system?

That will still appear as overdue in both Avalara and QuickBooks until the payment is recorded. The Slack report includes a note to verify any balance before re-paying to avoid duplicate remittance.

Put this on autopilot.

Turn it on in minutes - or have our team set it up for you.
