In short

How can a pharmacy automatically identify and reach out to patients who are not refilling their chronic medications on time?

WebRun checks PioneerRx every Monday for patients whose chronic medication refills are 7 or more days overdue, drafts a personalized outreach message for each via Twilio, and posts the full queue to Slack for a pharmacist to review and approve before any message reaches a patient.

  • Non-adherent patients are identified and reached weekly, not only when they call in
  • Pharmacist approves every message before it goes out, keeping clinical judgment in the loop
  • Chronic disease patients stay on track with less manual staff effort

Questions, answered

Will it contact patients without the pharmacist reviewing the messages first?

No. Every draft outreach message is placed in a Slack review queue. No message is sent to any patient until a pharmacist explicitly approves it, protecting patient privacy and ensuring the right tone for each individual.

Which medications are included in the adherence check?

By default, WebRun targets chronic maintenance medications such as those for hypertension, diabetes, and cholesterol. You can configure the medication class filter in your workflow settings to match your pharmacy's clinical priorities.

What about patients enrolled in medication synchronization?

Med sync patients are automatically excluded from the adherence outreach queue because their refill timing is managed separately through your med sync program in PioneerRx.
