Automated eClinicalWorks GI Care Gap Report

Every Monday, WebRun opens eClinicalWorks and scans your active GI patient panel for care gaps including overdue colorectal cancer screening, lapsed colonoscopy surveillance intervals, and unresolved abnormal lab results. It logs each gap to Google Sheets by category and patient, and posts a Slack digest to your clinical quality team so gaps can be addressed before your next quality report.

In short

How do I generate a weekly GI care gap report from eClinicalWorks for my quality team?

WebRun opens eClinicalWorks every Monday and scans your GI patient panel for care gaps including overdue colorectal screening, lapsed surveillance intervals, and unresolved abnormal labs. It logs each gap to Google Sheets by category and gap age, then posts a digest to Slack so your quality team can prioritize outreach and close gaps before the next reporting period.

  • Every colorectal screening and surveillance gap surfaces weekly without manual chart audits
  • Quality team starts Monday knowing the total gap count and the oldest unaddressed cases
  • Gap trends accumulate in Google Sheets so improvement over time is visible at a glance

Questions, answered

Will it send gap notifications directly to patients?

No. The care gap report is an internal quality management tool. Any outreach to patients about care gaps requires clinical review and approval from the care team before any message is drafted or sent.

Which quality measures does it track?

By default it checks colorectal cancer screening due dates, colonoscopy surveillance intervals lapsed, and unresolved abnormal lab results. You can add custom measures based on your practice's quality program requirements.

How does it avoid counting the same gap week after week?

Google Sheets tracks the gap status for each patient. Once a care gap is resolved in eClinicalWorks, it no longer appears in the next week's run because the check reads live data from the EHR each time.

Put this on autopilot.

Turn it on in minutes - or have our team set it up for you.
